X Games Minneapolis continued Saturday as 47,000 fans passed through the gates at U.S. Bank Stadium to watch the most talented action sports athletes in the world compete in a wide range of events including The Real Cost Skateboard Big Air, the Fruit of the Loom BMX Dirt Final and the crowd favorite Monster Energy Moto X Best Trick. With five scores in the 90’s, the Fruit of the Loom BMX Dirt Finals was ultimately won by Aussie, and X Games rookie, Brandon Loupos. Lining up a combination of tricks that included a double backflip, a cash roll, a triple tail whip and a flair double tailwhip, the Australian’s third run score of 95.00 beat out Logan Martin’s valiant effort in which he landed an equally impressive run earning a 94.00. Taking bronze was another X Games rookie, 23-year-old Brian Fox.
The Chase BMX Pros, Connor Fields and Joris Daudet both headed to Stop #8 for the Elite riders of the 2018 season for race round 15 & 16 for the Pro Series tour. Joris Daudet has wanted to regain his USA BMX #1 Pro title ever since the last main event at the 2017 Grands, where Connor took the plate and title away. Sine then, Joris has been determined to return to the top and again this weekend, his quest for the title is on track. Joris was on fire in Minneapolis, as he out raced every Elite rider at the Land O' Lakes nationals on his was to 2 victories, making it a perfect weekend! Joris adds to his points lead for the title chase in 2018!
Connor Fields made his return to the USA BMX tour since stop #2, where a crash had kept him sidelined
Monster Energy congratulates the unstoppable James Foster who took gold in BMX Big Air at X Games Minneapolis 2018. In a heated contest that saw eight riders give it their all, it was Foster who reigned king on the biggest jump at X Games with a progressive run that will change the future of the sport. Alex Nikulin, meanwhile, became the first Russian athlete to place top three at X Games in over fifteen years. Owning as much charisma as talent, Foster showed up to X Games Minneapolis with one goal in mind — to defend his hard won Big Air title from last year. There was just one problem however.“I came out here not even knowing if I could ride,” he explained after the event. “I got hit by a car last week on my motorcycle!”
This contest can be summed up in a single line: "You're still an asshole, Dennis." Congrats to Vince on his gold repeat!
Brandon Loupos wins the gold medal in BMX Dirt at X Games Minneapolis 2018.
Chad Kerley wins the gold medal in Men’s BMX Street at X Games Minneapolis 2018.
Always a heavy event, Big Air pushes what's possible on a BMX bike and the dudes that are down to give it a run did not disappoint. Here's the highlights...
16 of the best battling for seven spots in the finals. Definitely some upsets in this (Alex Nikulin, Kevin Peraza), but if the level of riding is any sign of how heavy finals is gonna be with Colton Walker, Kyle Baldock, and Logan Martin in the mix...damn.
Street was fucking heavy. 12 of the best in the world get two runs and the best run counts. Here's what went down at street finals at X Games.
X GAMES 2018 - DAVE MIRRA BEST TRICK HIGHLIGHTS. It's cool that the Dave Mirra Best Trick is turning into its own event of sorts. Alex Hiam got an invite to come join the party and he most definitely did not disappoint. For those about to ask, Pat pulled his 540 whip on a "for the fans" 4th attempt and didn't count.
