Last week our capital was all about the Urban Sports Week Amsterdam. From 6 till 9 July there where different kinds of urban sports which could be practiced and seen. BMX was represented with an own event, the Soulcycle BMX Championships! Riders from all over the world came to Amsterdam to compete for the prize money (over €12.000), ride together and have an awesome time! The spectators could hang out on Amsterdam’s Museumplein, watch some amazing BMX riding and enjoy the very chilled vibe that the Urban Sports Week Amsterdam has to offer!
The Museumplein was crammed with BMX parks for all BMX disciplines. Soulcycle organized contests for dirt, spine mini, park, flatland and street. Besides that there was a BMX video contest in which

Monster Energy will feature athlete autograph signings, brand ambassadors, sampling and an outdoor lounge at X Fest.

If you thought we couldn’t top last year’s line of bikes, you better think again! For our 2018 line of bikes, we have refined our line-up and gone back to our roots. With four new models, you’ll see more BMX bikes in the line than ever before. Check out some of the highlights.
Mike Buff is a BMX pioneer who helped introduce freestyle BMX to the world. As one of the original godfathers of freestyle, Mike rode a PK Ripper in the early 1980s when he was a member of the legendary BMX Action Trick Team. The Mike Buff Big Ripper resonates with the same style of the PK Ripper that Mike made famous, but this year’s version is built with big ol’ 29” wheels.
The Simple Summer Session riders list for the event in Riga on 26 August 2017 is starting to look really good. More local riders will be added from the pre-qualification events in Estonia (Kuldrula) and Latvia (Ghetto Games) as well as several more international top riders. Altogether 24 park riders and 24 street riders will ride in Riga. Nate Wessel designed the course and it will be built by MindWorkRamps / Sessionramps so you know it's going to be good.
