Fans Choose Cameron White as Winner for Barspin Tailwhip Backflip in BMX Dirt Competition at Tour’s Toyota Challenge

NEW YORK – October 1, 2007 – The AST Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, today announced the winner of the PlayStation® Trick of the Week Award from the Toyota Challenge. Voting began on Monday, September 24, the day after competitions ended. Fans were able to view video clips and vote online at astdewtour.com until Monday, October 1. Fans selected Cameron White as the PlayStation® Trick of the Week winner after he performed a Barspin Tailwhip Backflip in competition during the BMX Dirt Finals. White finished in second place in the finals. “I want to thank everyone who made this possible: my friends, family, and especially the fans,” said White. “I’m totally shocked and excited to have won, because I was up against tough competition. The Toyota Challenge was the best contest this year. The jumps were awesome, the crowds were amazing, and Salt Lake was a fun city to be in.”
Brian Purdy's F this S BMX video had its premiere at Todd's bar in Salt Lake City. We decided to check it out since we were in the neighbourhood. When we entered the bar the crew thought that we were putting on the video premiere. Since we were the first ones there we did not know if we found the right place. Jerry, Bruce and his crew showed up and arrived for the same reason. We played a few games of pool and slowly more BMX-ers showed up. Allan Cooke showed a copy of Brian Purdy's F this S DVD so we had come to the right spot indeed.

After 3 months of messing about Vladdie de Koning has managed to finish another New Breed Riders video. The previous movie was about their road trip in Germany but this one is about their own local spot in Middelburg, The Netherlands. With fall coming up (and lots of rain) you might want to check out this indoor spot in the next couple of months. The movie shows riding by the locals and also some graffiti work at the Mekert skatepark. Watch the movie by going HERE
The second stop in the Red Bull Backyard Digger tour will not be Rotterdam, as was originally planned, but Groningen, a city in the north of the Netherlands. The local Rotterdam government does not grant the Red Bull Backyard Digger team the necessary permits to help the local BMXers to build a dirt spot. The Rotterdam government stated that there is much crime on the site where the dirt was to be built. They expect that if the site were turned into a dirt spot, crime would increase.
You've got to respect people who are helping out keeping the scene alive. The Glamorama event is helping out BMX in several ways. A Mirraco bike will be up for Auction to support the Stephen Murray cause, unsung heroes will battle it out in a 6.0 comp and UK factory teams from animal, Alone and Proper will battle it out in the Central Park skatepark. 
Yeah yeah we're late with this one and actually all of the Dew Tour Utah updates but cut us some slack. We've been partying, checking in with friends, visited Matt Beringer's house and had a barbeque there, flew to Las Vegas and this week will be more of the above. Good times for sure and we'll get you what you've been waiting for but it might just take a few extra days. The party life started off in Salt Lake City's Hilton Hotel with the Red Bull party.
