Last week, Alvaro Serrano had a terrible accident which resulted in a traumatic brain injury. He was very strong and was getting better on these days, but unfortunately he left us this morning. I just want to let the bmx family know. There’s no word that can express how I'm feeling right now. Alvaro Serrano left us this morning doing what he liked best: riding his bicycle. I will always miss those afternoons when he was very excited to ride and happy to join me wherever I was going. Always smiling and making people around him a bit happier. 
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
