How many years has the Simple Session been running now?
Risto: It’s been 17 years in a row now. And we have done over 20 big events. I believe we’re one of the longest-running BMX and skate events in the world now.
When you started it 17 years ago, did you ever think that itwould last this long?
Risto: Of course not. I was just a 17-year-old kid. We didn’t have anywhere to ride. So we built our first skatepark in Tartu. That needed an opening event which went really well, so we threw it again the next year and so the tradition and the Simple Session was born. Still, there never was really any business plan in the beginning, it just grew somehow and it’s been a blast all these years. It hasn’t been always easy to keep the show running, though. The Florida trip was fun while lasted but as we all know at some point the fun has to stop! But on the Scotty Cranmer channel that's not an option finally arrive back in NJ and I went to go visit Scotty. I hung out with them all day at the rehab center we had an absolutely awesome time. He let you guys in on some of these new progress shows you what is going to be doing in the future and talks about his time at the rehab center. The amount of progress that he has made is unbelievable me being there the day that he crashed and see him now it almost brings tears to my eyes. I remember when I was at the hospital the night that he crashed the doctor look me in the eyes and said your friend will never walk again with confidence. And to see him take steps in a walker on his own makes you want to go back to the doctor said I told you so, because when he said that I said Sir I promise you my friend will walk again. If you're ever having a bad day just remember if you just think like Scotty you can get motivated to do anything you want in life that is when the new life lessons that I've learned. INSPIRED BY "KOTH" MYSELF & AUGIE CAME UP WITH THE IDEA TO DO THE CRAZIEST CHALLENGES AT CAMP. 100 CHALLENGES, 3 DAYS, 3 PEOPLE (BILLY, AUGIE, & MYSELF) VIDEO EACH DAY COMPLETING THE CHALLENGES, PERSON WITH THE MOST POINTS WINS. LOSER HAS TO DO SOMETHING CRAZY. WE'RE NOT SURE WHAT IT IS YET, SO LET US KNOW. LEAVE A COMMENT!
Started off the 2017 Nitro Circus touring with a crazy show!First stop of the New Zealand Nitro tour of 2017, got no practice at all and had to go straight into the show in with wet ramps and horrible wind. But we managed to pull through!
