The 2017 Vans BMX Pro Cup Series touches down in Malaga, Spain for the best contest yet on one of the greatest BMX parks in the world. Riders Chase Hawk, Gary Young, Dennis Enarson, Sergio Layos, Ryan Nyquist, Corey Walsh and Ben Wallace put on an epic show that will go down in history as one of the best ever.
The Vans BMX Pro Cup Series closed out an explosive competition in Málaga, Spain as 31 of the best BMX riders from around the globe battled it out for top honors and the coveted global qualifier title. In an astonishing finals shakeup, USA’s Chase Hawk clinched the Málaga victory in his first appearance this season, demonstrating steadfast style and ingenuity through unpredictable lines throughout Málaga’s beloved park terrain course.
“The Vans Pro Cup is one of the best contests that BMX has going, mix that with Rubén Alcántara’s skatepark makes for the perfect event. To be able to come here and put it all together feels amazing,” exclaims first place winner, Chase Hawk.

Following a back to back showdown of rising BMX talent, the Vans BMX Pro Cup concluded the second regional qualifier rounds earlier today to secure a final field of 31 riders to compete Sunday, May 7 at the infamous El Málaga Skatepark. Surpassing more than 80 international BMX hopefuls in the open prelims rounds, Australia’s Chris James soared above the rest, showcasing massive airs and back to back technical tricks to clench a triumphant win, taking home the first-place prize of $1,000 USD and the coveted invite to the Vans BMX Pro Cup World Championships in California. Not far behind, Maxime Charveron, better known as the “Flying Frenchman”, demonstrated clean 360 maneuvers and giant transfers to earn him second place, while UK native Ben Wallace’s
