It's always good to receive an issue of BBN but lately the press releases make it on the internet before the trade news makes it to print. With the trade mag coming out 4 times per year, the news it brings can be a bit dated (compared to the web) but is also has articles that are timeless that you can read at any point in time. The Mirraco news made it to the cover of the March issue and at the same time HARO's Chief Operating Officer Joe Hawk gets interviewed on the situation. Haro's Tony D gets an interview as the new brand manager and Robbie Morales took Tony D's old TM job at Fox Racing and gets asked some questions about that. Can't we all just agree on one size? is what guest editor Chris Moeller is asking in the March issue. Read it and give your feedback. 01 Company-01 Question is with Colin Stiles of Transit. Ron Wilkerson explains the benefits of having BMX shows at BMX stores, and Rich Vitiello is selling billiard tables these days instead of Huffy's and Mongoose's. BNN interviewed him and Rich gives his reasons.
The 'hell is for zombies' jam is taking place this weekend and the weather is looking good so here's some info about they day for those that want to know: Starts at 12pm at Victoria skate park in Auckland city center, New Zealand. There will be a free BBQ (bring your own beer). It's a jam only, not a comp! although there will be prizes for the bunny hop, long jump, and ledge comp, as well as plenty of other prizes for best trick or rider of the day, that sort of shit.
Animal All Day Animal's videos have built up a strong reputation among the true street riders. Their latest flick titled "All Day" doesn't disappoint. It's not only the team riders who get sections but friends too who lend their hand with some great footy. It's the respect they have for the Animal brand that make them go out of their way to clock some filming time to be part of the Animal video.
All Day is actually a good title as the streets of New York don't slow down much. Most footage however is filmed at night, when the security is minimal and the shopping crowd is small. Bob Scerbo held his camera low and made sure the camera was moving which made for some great angles. The riding of the team guys (Hamilton, Wormz, Dossantos, Scerbo, Sammon, Williams, White, Gonzales, Washington, Tiseo (RIP), Butcher and Edwin) is super street. Some ride brakeless but you couldn't tell. Delarosa can manual for miles without brakes and shows how to do a manuel to x-up handrail with ease.
We've conducted surveys with our customers to see if they if they would be interested in a 26" cruiser, and we had such great response we decided to make it happen. There was quite a bit of excitement about the fact that it's an affordable bicycle that is still a BMX bike for older or lazy guys who still want to jump off curbs on the way to the liquor store.
Over the weekend an important NBL race took place in Las Vegas. Here are some race reports by Haro's Jason Richardson and Double A Marketing's Pete Delewski. Also the results are listed at the end of this update. Jrich is up first:
Chad Roberts Finally shaves his stupidly long, bushy, and grizzled Beard! Why? The duder (dooder) took home the big vet pro win wire-to-wire Saturday night after getting his bike stolen on Friday and building a new one Saturday with just 20 minutes left to practice. Go figure. Anyway, big congrats to Chad.

Street luge and canoe sky diving didn't really fit the X-Games program but with additions like Super-motard (superretard) and now Rally racing, the extreme sports festival is turning into a motorsports event. Or maybe you can call it the Travis Pastrana Nitro circus show as he can participate in Freestyle Motocross, Supermoto and Rally racing at the 2006 edition in Los Angeles. Anyway, here's the press release on the addition of the latest sport to the games.
With much amiability we were in the city of Lima for the first great Dirt Jump event of that was made in that city. Some demos were held a few days ago on the the dirt jumps. After that, Peter Heningsen of www.bmxperu.com and Omar Cosio' de Red Bull contacted us so that we made madnesses after a championship that would have the premises. In demo they were my two brothers, Mauricio and "Junior", Mauricio Mayorga and I, all mounting a little and trying to make a pleasant spectacle for the people who attended the event.
