The UCI BMX Freestyle Park Men’s World Cup qualifications kicked off the day under bright sunshine

The grand finale of the 2025 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup is set to take place from 27 to 30 November in Sakai, Ibaraki (Japan), at the iconic Skatepark used for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. This last stop of the season will see the world’s best riders battle for the overall UCI BMX Freestyle Park and Flatland World Cup titles (Men & Women).

In addition to the spectacular BMX Freestyle action, spectators will also enjoy the FISE Breaking International Battle, bringing together some of the top breakers for a world-class urban sports celebration in Japan.

After a spectacular debut in 2024, FISE Shanghai kicks off tomorrow, ready once again to take over the iconic West Bund. As the second stop of the 2025 FISE World Series, following the legendary FISE Montpellier in May, this year’s edition promises to push the boundaries of urban sports with an expanded lineup, fresh formats, and even more action.

This year, FISE Shanghai will welcome the world’s top athletes across thirteen disciplines, including BMX Freestyle Park and BMX Freestyle Flatland, both part of the 2025 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup. The program will also feature Breaking, Skateboarding Street, Scootering Street, and a range of exciting new additions: Roller Street, Scootering Park, BMX Street, Speed Climbing, BMX Spine Ramp, Scootering Spine Ramp, Roller Spine Ramp, and Skateboarding Spine Ramp.

All competitions will unfold on cutting-edge infrastructures designed by Hurricane, offering a world-class experience for both athletes and spectators.

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that the composition of its Athletes' Commission will be renewed in 2025. The new members will be elected by their peers at the 2025 UCI World Championships for the different cycling disciplines represented on the commission. Since 2017, the commission has been made up of 20 members, with each of the included disciplines BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle, road, track, mountain bike cross-country, mountain bike downhill, para-cycling, cyclo-cross, trials and indoor cycling – represented by two riders (one man and one woman).

The members will be elected for a term of four years, which will take effect at the 2025 UCI Elective Congress, to be held in conjunction with the 2025 UCI Road World Championships in Kigali (Rwanda), or at the time of their election for those who are elected after the event in Kigali. The term for all members will end at the following Elective Congress, on the occasion of the 2029 UCI Road World Championships in Denmark.

The President of the UCI Athletes' Commission, a position currently held by Katerina Nash (Czechia), the female representative for cyclo-cross, is elected by the members of the commission and sits on the UCI Management Committee, the executive body of our International Federation, which operates under the authority of the Congress.
