Magazines sometimes have good competitions going on. For that alone you should pick up a copy, or better, get a subscription. Making a Photo Issue can be easy. It is simple to fill pages with a single photo but it for sure can be tough to make decisions on what picture to use or getting the file from a photographer who is on the road all the time. Anyway, issue #24 of Zwanzig Zoll is labeled the Photo Special but it has plenty of regular content as well. The Highway to Hill contest is one of those events that gets loads of coverage because it happens in Zwanzig Zoll's frontyard. A part of the Zwanzig staff also made it down to Cologne for the BMX Masters and the most fun was had in Austria at Senad Grosic's Cordobar where an Austria-Germany football game on BMX bikes took place. Issue 24 also has a report from the RedBull Elevation comp in Mexico, some dirty girls in a mud bath, a dirty camping tour, product page, news, and Maxsomenoise section. In between all that you will find the killer photos that were announced. They come in four sections and each one has sweet photos.

While in the USA a few weeks ago I rented a car for a few reasons and one of them was to see three BMX riders who had been (and still are) going through some rough times.

Mat Hoffman made things easy to see Stephen Murray as he had invited him to come the SoulBowl event. It must have been the hardest event to get him to with his chair but if there is a will, there is a way. It was awesome to see Stephen up there enjoying the riding that was going on in the wooden bowl on the beach.

The RedBull backyard digger program helped out three towns this summer and one of them was Zoetermeer. While in the area we decided to check out the venue. It was right next to Snowworld so easy to get to. Once at Snowworld we followed the "Fietscrossbaan" signs and the newly built trails were right next to it. But the track was so much fun that for 30 minutes we did not even check out the trails! Noone was riding the spot so it was hard to see how the spot worked from a little distance. When we picked up a TSG Superlight helmet at Paul's Boutique for the first time we were impressed by the weight of it, or better, the lack of weight. Damn these things are light. The Old School gatherings are taking off. BMXmuseum.com put on a show in Oregon and riders like Mike Dominguez, Scotty Freeman, Brian Blyther, Scott Breithaupt and Ron Wilkerson showed up to check out the super clean bikes from the past. We've got the show results here for you and a few pics:
