Name Park: ZOOPARK
Operator: Me, Alessandro Barbero
Location: Priero (CN), Italy
You've had your park for some time now. When did you first start it?
Alessandro Barbero: Yes Bart it's been a while now! I was very lucky to have a lot of good sponsors that helped out. But in the last 5/6 years I had to find budget. We started out in 2007 but we only finished in 2010. Now it has been 10 years this year I would love to organize an event to celebrate the DECADE
I hope this COVID-19 situation will end soon. By the way a lot of work all around I spent days and days
Name Park: Istvan Caillet’s Backyard
Operator: Istvan CAILLET
Location: Close to Toulouse (South of France)
What made you decide to build your own park?
Istvan Caillet: My brother and I started to build our home spot 11 years ago when the city close to our parents’ house decided to destroy the skatepark where we used to ride after school. It was the only skatepark around where I could go by bike (20 min). So it was the only option to continue riding bmx.
How often have you changed it?
Name Park: Ramps in the yard
Operator: Myself, Cory Coffey McGee
Location: Detroit, Michigan USA
You've had your backyard ramp set-up for some time now. When did you first get to ride it?
Cory Coffey: They were built in September of 2018… so almost two years….
How does it feel to be able to ride whenever you feel like it?
It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Rom Skatepark, granted heritage status in 2014, has after forty one years of ceaseless operation, closed it’s doors as of the 1st September 2019. With the loss of all the indoor facilities at a devastating fire last summer, (which had a major impact on the parks’ revenue over the past twelve months) and despite receiving a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to promote the park in 2018, over the last year the park has faced an unprecedented increase in insurance costs, ridiculously high business rates (compared to similar venues) and probably the worst summer in terms of attendance figures for years.
As such the park is no longer able to remain open for the foreseeable future.
Logan City Council’s $3.1 million rebuild of the Doug Larsen Park BMX freestyle and skate park facility at Beenleigh will begin next week. Council is constructing a world-class BMX/skate park facility that Cycling Australia says will be the best in the country and a potential venue for future international competitions. The park’s existing BMX/skate park will close on Tuesday, May 21.
The public BMX riding circuit at Doug Larsen Park, which is home to the Beenleigh BMX club, is not affected by the construction and will remain open. The design of the new freestyle course was finalised after Council hosted a workshop that included Logan’s BMX freestyle 2017 world champion Logan Martin along with Cycling Australia Technical Director (BMX) Wade Bootes, Clint Millar from Colony BMX and Ross Lavender and Nathan Philps from the local BMX community.
When you’re on a filming mission, riding a small spot with 30 people is a little bit of a rushy situation. Here we were riding a playground tranny spot and got kicked out by the cops. I remember Spriet going to the moon on that tranny.
Freddy from Berlin took me and Basil from Switzerland to this pier spot to get a quick beach vibe. The negative colors of that photo I took matched the squad picture.

In the end of January I went to Barcelona for a month again. Yearly winter escape because of the shitty weather all the time in Hollandia. This time a lot of different squads from different countries pulled up in the same period.
The first time I moved to BCN I was working at this bike / art shop called EL CICLO. When I was visiting them this trip I fell in love with the chain stairs. Shoutout to Ramiro Sobral
Zack Dunn from the THANKYOU crew went all in for this one. A triple kinked rail in Eixample. Didn’t land it in the end but mad respect for even trying this thing. Muy loco. Bet sauce still has good clips on this one.

This time a lot of different squads from different countries pulled up in the same period. At the time parallel was packed with over 50 riders in the night. Only a few were riding. And it was not a jam.For FVR I bought myself a kodak throwaway cam out there. It had 30 flicks. A couple fucked up but I’m still happy with the result. 3 days in a row I uploaded the
Augie mane was doing a lot of monkey moves on the trip. I’ve never been a fan of vlogs but the way Austin puts something on the screen is art in multiple directions. Here he was trying to get an angle in the tree.
The other picture is made while running to a gang of pigeons at Sants Estacio. The centre train station of BCN. I just liked the way how the left picture matches the right one.

Augustin Gutierrez aka Agbmx is one of my favorite riders ever. The way this man uses a spot is the funniest shit to watch. Here u see him putting a rock under the metal wall at parallel. 2 mins later he gaps from the stair platfrom tot the wall. Fully Ruben mode.
In the back theres this mystirious man who was trying to steal our beers on the basketball spot. I don’t know what was going through his head but he was standing just like that for an hour.
