The ever dialed Tom Haugen (Snafu/Free Agent) brought the bad news himself: "I have just gotten hurt and am done for the season. I broke my tibia, fibula and ankle. Had 2 screws put in and am laid up for awhile. I was really looking forward to the Dew Tour final and the Dallas year end LG comp. I also had just bought a ticket to go to Shanghai with DMC and Koji for a comp."
Olivier Morineau, the organiser of the French "Vibrations Urbaines", sent us some info on this year's edition (9th edition). It's one of the best "by and for riders contest" in France. It takes place on 4 and 5 of Nov. 2006 in Pessac (very near Bordeaux airport, or station), and that is the weekend right after the Backyard Jam in England. So if you are in England, you can join the French people because we are trying to organise a road trip from there to France. Last year we had 130 riders for the contest, with all the best French riders and guys like Hanu Cools, Barry Khone... and John Petit on the mic and Manu Sanz on shooting.
It came from the darkness... The first issue of the Quadangle Looptail prototype frame has stepped back into reality. It's been 20+ years since this legendary frame was last produced. Well, it's coming back onto the scene. But in limited numbers. So you better track down your favorite SE dealer before they're all gone.

Minersville R.I.P. Some bad news came over the wire today. The trails in Minersville, PA were plowed yesterday. A young kid got knocked out, an ambulance was called, his parents freaked out, sued the land owner, and the bulldozers were deployed. It’s a sad story but unfortunately one that happens to trails all too often. Everyone here is going to miss the good times, but we’ll always cherish the memories.
If there was an award for bad flyers, the Toilet Boicot Bowl jam would be a winner. That doesn't mean anything though so if you feel like riding some concrete at the Millennium park you can enter for 10 bucks (pro) and 5 bucks (amateur). Cash pay-out and mad prizes are available for the Hard Trick contest. The date: 14 October 2006. Time: 3 pm. Click on the flyer to find out all the details. BMX is fucking rad man!
This is what ArifMaherali had to say: "There is a bowl contest going
Yup, another one of those concrete parks is being opened this Saturday in Zutphen, The Netherlands. The first dudes have been rolling in the park and from the looks of it, the park is great. Cradle and everything. Ledges, stairs, rails, the whole nine yards. If the pics aren't reason enough for you to check it out, you can watch this movie to see how they keep things rolling over in Zutphen. Show your respect and make things work together.
- The Gary Young Props interview is doomed. After Walter drove from Seattle to film Gary in native San Diego, the first trick they tried to film, poor Gary broke his wrist. Mind you, we did the interview questions 1 year ago and were planning on redoing everything this year in Las Vegas at Interbike--lets shoot for 2008 guys.
-Props is finishing up production on 13 new episodes for FUEL TV. Look for the shows to air in early 2007 and include tons of sections from Props, Road Fools and Mega Tour. Hosted by Steve Crandall, after watching you'll have the urge to crack open a cold PBR...
-Road Fools 15 will be shipping on Oct 3rd. This trip was amazing… Road Fools 15 hit the road and traveled across the Midwest including stops in Chicago, Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Cincinnati, Kokomo, and Ft Wayne. Lots of street on this trip.
On Sunday we're leaving for Interbike in Las Vegas. I'm already catching up on sleep, charging the battery. We're staying in a roach hotel on Paradise Road but it has a fridge, a jacuzzi and a swimming pool. That's where luxury stops though. Mike Emde and Andy Zeiss will be the roommates of Paul and I. Should be a good time. The Interbike trade show starts on Wednesday and ends on Friday. It will show the latest bicycle products so expect an update or two from Vegas next week. If the tradeshow isn't exhausting enough, the evening program will be a rough one. We usually end up at the Hardrock's round bar but this year it looks like we don't have to go anywhere else. FIT Bike Co. will have the premiere of their new FITLIFE video at the Hardrock. Mosh will show their products in one of the rooms and RIDE BMX will have the NORA CUP at the Hardrock this year. Sweet! or should I say, oh shit!
Hannu Cools, Stefan Lantschner, Perico and Niels Thanild went on a Carhartt trip in Italy and filmed a whole bunch of stuff. Italy seems to be taking off these days and the “NO MORE JOKES,PLEASE!” shows spots that you have never seen before.
