Caroline Buchanan and Jayco Caravans are pleased to award the 2016 “Buchanan Next Gen Jayco Scholarships” to Des’ree Barnes and Molly McGill. The scholarship was awarded to the winners of the 14 and 15 girls age categories at the 2016 Australian National BMX Championships in Bathurst on the weekend. Both Des’ree and Molly will receive $3,000 each to assist them to travel to the BMX World Championships in Colombia this year.

Wollongong’s Leanna Curtis has furthered her bid for a place on the Australian Olympic team by winning the BMX Australia national title, edging out fellow Rio hopeful Melinda McLeod in a photo finish in Bathurst, NSW. In the men’s event Sydneysider Alex Cameron stormed through for a surprise win to edge out Victoria’s Wade Turner, while the Northern Territory Olympic aspirant Matthew Juster came home third after leading at the half way point of the race.
