Day 2: After a good sleep we got up pretty early again to make things happen. Weather was awesome, at 9am we already hit the 25 celsius mark. It´s warm in SoCal during winter but it does get dark early too. So for some outdoor riding we needed to get it done by 5pm. We drove something like 10 min and then by total coincidence past a ditch. Day 1: Let's start with the “official” day 1 here – I guess nobody wants to read how exiting the flights were, haha. Thanks to Jerry Badders picking us up at LAX and supporting us with a large vehicle. So after a full day of travel we got up pretty early on day 1. Needless to say without any alarm clock. After a few days of Christmas fever it was time to ride. It showed at Pim's 040 park in Eindhoven because roughly 60 riders showed up for a session which kicked off at 13h00. Since the opening of the park a banana ramp has been added, built by Dale Reves, which gives the street riders something extra to play on. Pim also cruised around for a bit after 3 and a half months off his bike due to an injury. Having an indoor park to ride this time of the year is just great. It'll be open again on Tuesday 29 Dec from 2pm-8pm and Saturday 2 January 2010 from 6pm - 11pm. 5 Euros per session and bring the 
If you reach a certain level in your riding most likely you'll be asked to put on a demo at some point. Maybe through one of the sponsors that you've gathered at that point or maybe someone in the crowd walks up to you and offers you to put on a demo at his next event. You can say you're not interested if it's not your thing to do your tricks in front of a crowd. Fair enough. But it's an opportunity to see new places, meet new people, and get people involved in BMX who have never seen anything like it. Senad Grosic, Sergio Layos, and Michael Beran were flown into Japan last week to put on demos 
The First ever King of the Animal House Invitational is over and this year’s crown goes to Dennis Enarson. The battle for the car between Enarson and Nyquist was actually so close, nobody could call it. These guys separated themselves from the rest of the field with mind boggling bangers never before seen in the Animal House. Our only wish is that Morgan Wade had not gone down on his first trick (jersey barrier flair) and been knocked out due to an ankle injury that prevented him from walking. It would have been awesome to see what Morgan would have brought to counter the ongoing battle between Nyquist and Enarson. 2 of the biggest tricks we’ve ever seen would have to be Nyquist’s double bar out of the top of the pocket wall (he also 540’d out of the top as well) and Enarsons contest ending double whip transfer to the huge quarter wall. The video you see online does not do any of this shit justice. It’s so much bigger than any of it looks on film. The Dew Tours of the sport could learn a lot from this type of event.

After the flow combo contest in Koblenz was over and we celebrated the whole thing with riders in Franks local Pizza place (third place team went home unfortunately). Sleeping good from a good weekend we left for Montpellier in the morning after. The weather was the kind you try to escape as a flatlander anyways. Lots of water from the sky and temperatures like in fall. so leaving this didn´t feel like we´re missing something at home even with more 
It was weird showing up at a contest on the day of the contest. Usually you get in, say hi to the people, check what's new, watch some practice, take some pictures, and all that good stuff but this one was different. I left the house at 4am(!) to pick up Paul in Aarle-Rixtel. We drove down to Duesseldorf to catch a 06:40h plane to Berlin. Got there a little early at 07:45h and waited for the shuttle for an hour. It didn't show up so we took a taxi to the hotel. Tried to check in around 09:45h but there were no rooms available yet. After some
