RIDEBMX (USA) has undergone some big changes. It's hard to miss the new paper, new size and also the lay-out has changed. It was actually time for America's main mag to change things up. Being on cruise control only works for so long. The January issue that we picked up at Paul's Boutique counts 140 pages. You can count 24 pages in for a Free Agent catalog which makes the mag thicker than it really is. The main stories (
Taj Mihelich's school project, South Africa report,
Brad Simms interview and how Americans got beat up in Paris - Euro roadfools) are all great and let's hope RIDE continues to bring bigger stories. There's no lack of photos in the mag (12 pages of Focus) and the rest of the mag is filled up with news, a Bio on
Dave Thompson, Ten questions for
Nigel Sylvester, a little thingy on the SeatBeat expo, video reviews, a new page on BMX shop owners,
first words, Softgoods and product pages, Pro Q&A's and mucho more.
The photos in RIDE are great and the wider pages show them even better. It's like upgrading to a high definiton widescreen TV. Go get yours.
