Midwest BMX Icon, Kyle Wiesenberger passed away, early Tuesday morning after a weekend long struggle to survive a car accident that he had been involved in, November 26th. Kyle's services will be on Friday and Saturday. He will be buried in his Battle Racing jersey and he wants all BMXers to wear theirs. It's what he would want; he loved the sport more than anyone and gave it his all.

Friday evening funeral service will be held at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. The exact times have not been determined but it will be Friday evening.

All are welcome and please wear your jersey's especially Battle Racing members. It was a true family and it never would have been what it was with Kyle! Please limit the number of flowers if possible.

The Saturday morning church service will be held at St. Agnes Church, 1680 Dixie Highway, Fort Wright, KY 41011 at approximately 10 am.

Victoria’s Ziggy Callan was too quick for Beijing Olympian, Nicole Callist,o in the Skin Industrries 2009 Vic open state championships women’s final today in Melbourne. Despite a slippery track the 20 year old from Lilydale took the lead after the first turn to edge out Callisto and Bendigo’s Jaclyn Wilson-Thompson. “We were all three were really close. There was a bit of a hairy second where I thought I would slip,” admitted Callan. After missing last year’s title race with an ankle injury Callan says this win is the best of her previous state titles.. “The special wins are the ones you really have to work for. This one is special,” Callan said.

Callisto crashed on the last turn placing seventh giving second to Queensland’s Chelsea King. Wilson-Thompson placed a respectable third. Fellow Victorian, Michael Chasteauneuf defeated a top class Australian field to take out the elite men’s race. The 18 year old held off an early challenge by Queenslander Dirk Winter. Belgian Elite Men's Arnaud Dubois has just signed a new bike deal for his hunt for the #1 spot in the European Championships Series 2010. The current Vice European Champion and Jan Schippers from the brand new Intense BMX Europe Team came to an agreement.

The ABA Golden Crank awards were handed out in Oklahoma at the 2009 ABA Grands. The readers of the ABA BMXer voted for their favourite team, pro rider, rookie and BMX bike. And here are the winners:

The British organizers, in consultation with the International Cycling Union (UCI), have come up with four distinct pictograms for BMX, mountain bike, road cycling and track. The four disciplines can be clearly distinguished in the pictograms. The BMX is symbolized by a rider clearing a jump. He is on a small bike, typical of this specialty, and is wearing a helmet with a visor. 

After years of working together with Crupi, Crupi-Europe is parting ways and we will be ending a great relationship with Crupi. The European team decided to go its own way with a different bike sponsor for 2010.
