The US Book launch for the 2nd Edition of The Birth of the BMX Freestyle Movement is held in San Diego at the 10 Barrel Brewing pub location in east village on May 25th. This 350-page oral history book, with 109 contributors, and hundreds of previously unseen images, tracks the metoeric rise of BMX Freestyle in the late '70s and through the 1980s. Mongoose announced today their professional BMX freestyle team is heading to Source Park in Hastings, UK on May 18th to host the brand’s first annual Mongoose Am Jam. The event – which will feature American riders Pat Casey, Kevin Peraza and Nikita Ducarroz, and UK riders Greg Illingworth, Ben Wallace, and Cam Peake – will give local youth the chance to meet, ride with, and learn tricks from the Mongoose team. Since 2012, Mongoose has hosted an annual Jam event at Camp Woodward in Woodward, Pennsylvania. These Jam events bring together the Mongoose team and their peers in BMX, for an authentic blend of camaraderie and competition.
To keep with the tradition of the previous Jam events, the Am Jam will also feature Jam-style sessions with Source Park BMX amateurs where they can show off their skills for prizes and awards from Mongoose pros. “The Mongoose Am Jam is the next evolution with our events,” said Mongoose Team
