Back on the bike 7 weeks ago after I broke my elbow. One week later I did my first race in Zolder. Meanwhile I had couple of races. My body feels okay, but unfortunately my results are not there yet… After my crash in Manchester during training, I was out for more than 2 months because of a broken elbow and a small fracture in my wrist. It’s always hard to come back, especially in a pre-olympic year when everybody is on fire to qualify for the Olympic Games.
The first 2 races I did in Zolder and Valkenswaard (beginning of April) felt okay to get back in the swing of racing again. One week later the first UCI BMX World Cup was held in Manchester, where I crashed and broke my elbow 2,5 months earlier. I felt pretty nervous every time I rode the track, but I was satisfied for making the Quarter Final in my condition.
After Manchester I went to France for round 3&4 of the European League series. We had to race in rainy weather all weekend long. Unfortunately I got disqualified in the Semi Final for a stupid reason.
