Dirt rules! So does Australia… and Jon “Termite” Mackellar, James “Jimmah” Pease and their Kiwi mate Joe Simpson. Which is why we decided to export some of the USA’s finest Grade A apes in Clint Reynolds, Nate Halahan and Aryei Levenson -- and with the help of some of Oz’s biggest trail technicians -- graze the lot of them from Sydney to Canberra and back again. Bowls for breakfast, rails for lunch and dirt for dinner… it was a smorgasbord and Stew Johnson caught it all on camera. Dirt rules!
What it's like having a BMX Founder as a father.
The Royal Rumble went down at the newly opened Taylor Farm skatepark just outside of Richmond, Virginia. It was non-stop positive vibes, with riders of all skill levels equally enjoying the park and comaraderie. Shout-out to Steve Crandall, Nate Hanger and RADShare for organizing an awesome day.

Ever heard of fantasy sports? You know, where you pick your dream team of athletes and rack up points based on how they perform? Of course, you have! But here, we're talking about fantasy BMX instead of touchdowns and slam dunks. In reality, the fantasy sports realm is getting a dose of high-octane BMX racing. So, hold on to your handlebars, 'cause we're going to try and clear the triples that you just watched the other guy hang up on and endo to go ass-over-tea-kettle for a face full of dirt.
By the way, I'm giving away my age through the title of this article ... see what I did there? I think it's pretty clever.
BMX Racing: Where Speed Meets Skills.
BMX racing is not your average lazy bike ride at the park. These pros are two-wheeled super athletes who fly over jumps and go around tracks at lightning-fast speeds. The world has major tournaments like the BMX World Championships and the USA BMX National Series, where people compete against each other for more than just trophies.
Starting Off with Fantasy BMX: It's Simple As Bunny Hopping
But before you think that you've got to program an entire fantasy league website (leave that out for now!), there is a site called FantasyBMX.com that already has things moving (get the drift?).
It's still in beta mode, so they're still working out the bugs, but you can sign up now and pick your favorite riders. Here's what you need to know:
● Sign Up: Go on over to FantasyBMX.com and make yourself an account – easy peasy lemon squeezy.
● Pick Your Riders: Each week, select riders who will rule the track according to their performance during racing. It's like if they were Kentucky Derby horses, except cooler without all those fancy hats!
● Points Make Prizes (Well, Not Exactly Prizes, But Bragging Rights): You earn points based on how well your chosen cyclists do; however, no prizes are given out.
● Leaderboard Glory: You can follow your performance on a worldwide leaderboard that updates after each weekend's races. This way, you know how good you are compared to other BMX fanatics who play fantasy sports.
The closer your predictions are to real life, the higher your points will be. Basically, the better you are at predicting race outcomes, the higher you rank on the global leaderboard. To get on the leaderboards, you need to know Joris Daudet, Connor Fields, and Alise Willoughby, who are every bit as important as Michael Jordan was in basketball.
Fantasy BMX is an entirely new way to participate in BMX racing excitement. It's like being a team owner, coach and psychic all wrapped up in one. You never know; you might have the next big thing in BMX even before competing in your first professional race!
Do You Want To Have Your A League of Your Own? Here's the Roadmap ... or Track
So, you want to be the boss of your own fantasy BMX league? Here's the skinny (easier than a bunny hop, I promise!):
Make Up Your Posse:
1. Bring your friends, BMX addicts or anyone who just loves a good bike trick.
2. Set the rules of the game, such as how many people can play and what kind of competition it will be.
3. Consider yourselves like owners of BMX teams – you have to have some dos and don'ts!
Tips for Being a Fantasy BMX Champ
Winning a fantasy BMX league is not just based on luck- it involves knowledge, strategy, and maybe gut feeling, too. These tips can help make them the ultimate commissioner and lead their team to victory:
1. Be a BMX Genius: Keep track of all rider statistics, recent performances, and injuries. Some websites like 2024 BMX Worlds, Tissot Timing, and USA BMX will come in handy here.
2. Know Your Rider; Know The Track: Each rider has different skills on different tracks. Is it a dirt track or a concrete jungle? Is it sunny or raining heavily? How strong is the competition? All these factors should be taken into consideration when thinking about your picks.
3. Take Risks: Wildcard picks can make you shine. At times betting on an underdog can pay big dividends. However, balance risk with rewards-you don't want to wipeout!
4. Adapt and Conquer: Based on last week's outcome as well as any new information change your strategy and picks as you go through the season. To be competitive, flexibility is key!
5. Stayin' Informed: The Key to Fantasy BMX Success
6. Get familiar with different fantasy sports formats: This goes hand-in-hand with staying informed. Several top-rated online casinos offer a range of fantasy sports and casino games. Check out the best apps to study up! To stay ahead in your league, you have to be in the know.
Here's how to keep your finger on the pulse of the BMX world:
● Become a News Addict: Regularly check up on BMX news websites, official event pages as well as subscribing to newsletters from organizations such as
USA BMX.You know what they say- knowledge is power!
● Timing is Everything: Platforms such as Tissot Timing have detailed race results and timing data that you can use to make informed decisions when picking your riders.
● Leaderboard Watch: Keep an eye on the FantasyBMX.com leaderboard to track your performance and see how you stack up against other participants. A little healthy competition never hurts anyone!
● Join the Fantasy BMX Community: It's More Than Just a Game. Being a part of the Fantasy BMX community can make the whole experience even more fun:
● Join the BMX Buzz: Engage with other BMX fans on forums and social media groups. Share tips, discuss strategies, and learn from others. There's a whole world of BMX knowledge out there!
● Feedback is Your Friend: FantasyBMX.com is still in its testing phase, so your feedback is valuable. Share your thoughts and suggestions to help improve the platform.
