Preparations are well underway and the summer edition of the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds has confirmed more competing top riders from all over the globe. Throwing themselves into the miniramp for honours and a decent amount of cash are BMXers Ben Hennon (UK), Mark Webb (UK) and Tobias Wicke (GER). In order to get the audience equally wet and sweaty, ska-punkers Mad Caddies have been confirmed, along with headlining legends Rise Against! Fans and visitors of this year’s Summer Session should come prepared, because the 2009 Summer Session will once again deliver „extremely“ superb actions!
BMX miniramp features star material as well. Not only is last year’s winner
Harry Main (UK) already confirmed; the winner of the Dirt Session 2009,
Rob Darden, who placed third in last year’s X-Games, is also going to be in Hamburg, along with German Champion
Sergej Geier from Berlin. Also freshly confirmed are world-renowned Englishmen
Ben Hennon and
Mark Webb, as well as
Germany’s trickmaster
Tobias Wicke from Berlin!

Even though it’s open air, catching your breath will be quite a challenge – even, if you’re not participating in the sports side of things. Next to our blockbusting headliners Rise Against, our second confirmed band is going to turn the place upside-down: the Mad Caddies. Fresh off German festival stages, they’ll be in perfect shape to add an extra bit of heat to the Summer Session, drawing more fun and sweat in the process.
Off the board, onto the stage: When the ska punk band Mad Caddies started out in the early 90s, they rather went to the beach instead of rehearsals. The decision to forcefully rock sound waves as well came a few years later – with the release of their debut album “Quality Softcare”. Until then, the ska punks had disguised themselves as surfer boys.
Chuck Robertson (vocals),
Sascha Lazor (guitar),
Cris Badham (bass)
Keith Douglas (tru

mpet),
Eduardo Hernadez (trombone) and
Brian Flenniken (drums) soon got hit by the wave they created, alas their second album was released through Fat Wreck Chords a mere year later – by punkrock’s daddy
Fat Mike himself. The Mad Caddies live performances have earned this band a safe spot on every known punkrock stage, so after roughly 20 years and three more studio albums, they still play in punkrock’s premier league!
