Even though it’s open air, catching your breath will be quite a challenge – even, if you’re not participating in the sports side of things. Next to our blockbusting headliners Rise Against, our second confirmed band is going to turn the place upside-down: the Mad Caddies. Fresh off German festival stages, they’ll be in perfect shape to add an extra bit of heat to the Summer Session, drawing more fun and sweat in the process.Off the board, onto the stage: When the ska punk band Mad Caddies started out in the early 90s, they rather went to the beach instead of rehearsals. The decision to forcefully rock sound waves as well came a few years later – with the release of their debut album “Quality Softcare”. Until then, the ska punks had disguised themselves as surfer boys. Chuck Robertson (vocals), Sascha Lazor (guitar), Cris Badham (bass) Keith Douglas (tru
mpet), Eduardo Hernadez (trombone) and Brian Flenniken (drums) soon got hit by the wave they created, alas their second album was released through Fat Wreck Chords a mere year later – by punkrock’s daddy Fat Mike himself. The Mad Caddies live performances have earned this band a safe spot on every known punkrock stage, so after roughly 20 years and three more studio albums, they still play in punkrock’s premier league! The Summer Session
