The BMX Worlds 2009 presented by ROCKSTAR Energy Drink (July 10-12th) in Cologne are moving closer and closer. Only two weeks from now, the BMX elite will gather up once again in the Jugendpark Cologne to celebrate the sport as they compete for the title. The event is highly anticipated by fans and riders alike. There will be a total of 450 registered athletes (230 of them are pros). Sadly, what the promoters of the BMX Worlds have feared, has become reality: Even though the registration deadline was already two weeks ago,

there are still many riders trying to sign up for the contest. The disciplines of Dirt, Park and Miniramp are completely booked (amateurs and pros). For the sake of a complication-free contest, no more riders can be added to the event. The only chance you have to get a spot in the tournament (for the ones not registered) is to show up on Friday (July 10th) at 10 a.m. on location. There you will have the chance to take a spot of registered riders who couldn't make it to the event.
Once again, here is the schedule:
On Thursday (July 9th), 9 am till 6 pm and on Friday (July 10th) from 8 to 10 am, the sign-up for already registered riders will be held. If you haven't showed up on Friday by 10 am, your spot will be given to one of the riders that are not registered yet!
But whoever will join, the line-up is priceless. Especially since nearly every Pro-Team on this planet has registered their top riders. Among those, Rockstar Energy Drink, Haro, Red Bull, Nike 6.0, Levis, FlyBikes, Felt Bikes, BSD, XSA Russia and British Knights. Additionally, an exhibition of 25 years of BMX history at the Jugendpark Cologne will be held.
