No time for hibernation! After an extremely successful event year in 2008 with a total of 15.000 spectators and two sold-out locations, T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds brings on three fantastic events in 2009. The first one will be the Dirt Session, April 19th, at the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord. The world class starting field in BMX Dirt Jump and Mountain Bike Slopestyle is about to get compiled. Three BMX stars have confirmed already:
Rob Darden (USA/Street winner Street Session 2008),
Diogo Canina (BRA/2nd place X Games 2008) and
Markus Hampl, German Dirt Jump champ 2008!
Music-wise, the headliner has already been nailed down: NOFX, the punkrockers from the US! Additional to the invited top riders, talented rookies can qualify for the Dirt Session via the T-Mobile Local Support Challenge. Pre-sales start tomorrow!

They belong to the group of the biggest and best punkrock legends and are the proud headliners of the Dirt Session 2009: NOFX! These US heroes, among two more bands, will provide the proper sound for supreme sports performance in April 19th. When NOFX frontman
Fat Mike and his friends founded their punkrock band in 1983, no one of the 16-year-olds could play an instrument, they weren’t striving for success either and played for free beer. Starting from such a base, NOFX have accomplished quite a bit! It’s

2009 and the release of their studio album „Wolves in Wolveclothes” in 06, their live set „They`ve Actually Gotten Worse Live“ in 07, a total of nine albums, 15 world tours and six million records sold, makes them one of the most successful indie bands in the world. The Californians have expanded their style with some more ska- and reggae elements which empowers the splendid live-performers even more. The proof will go down in history on April 19th!
The world’s best action sports athletes performed spectacular tricks in sold out venues. Dirt Session 2008 thrilled the masses with unforgettable runs and real festival feeling. Dirt Session 2009 will top that previous year and confirms the participation of some BMX heroes: American
Rob Darden, BMX Street Session winner 2008, Brazil’s hottest dirt export,
Diogo Canina, and Germany’s best dirt rider,
Markus Hampl. Regarding the starting field in mountain biking, last year’s winner
Paul Bassagoita (USA), second-placed
Lance McDermott (UK) and Germany’s best street rider and Duisburg local,
Marius Hoppensack. A total of ten of the world’s best BMX and Mountain Bike riders will attack the risky course at the Kraftzentrale with no remorse. The course will be constructed in April with tons of clay and wood in o

rder to create a superlative Dirt Line inside the old industry hall. The hall’s head section is reserved for the monster stage from which rock’n’roll will steam for three hours.
National pro riders and young talents have the one-time chance to quailify at the T-Mobile Local Support Dirt Challenge in Mainz (GER), March 28th. As there will be no qualifying in Duisburg in April 19th, that is the only chance for four BMXers and four Mountain Bikers to secure themselves a place among the high-class starting field at the Dirt Session and to compete head-to-head with the world’s best action sports performers.
