The 1st Zero Gravity Expo kicked off Saturday the 16th of March in Assen, The Netherlands, with a full day of practice on the freshly built dirt setup. As the event is held in March it is a big plus that the contest can be held indoors regarding the beautiful Dutch weather during this time of the year. On our way to the north of Holland we couldn’t be happier that we could ride indoors as it was snowing lightly and the outside temperature was below 0 degrees.
Riders from the Netherlands came over to the event next to international riders out of Austria, Germany and France. On Saturday everybody could practice on the course that the guys of Pedal Park Groningen put together that week. Next to the open practice on Saturday there was an amateur contest where both bmx and mtb riders could compete to warm up for Sunday’s pro contest. Lots of goodies were available through the sponsors of the event and kids loved their new Finger Clothing shirts they won on the big airbag that was opposite of the dirt line.
