OCTOBER 20, 2005 -- CARY, NC After seven years as the editor of Ride BMX and BMX Business News, Mark Losey has relocated to the east coast and launched Quality Content, a company producing photography and content for websites, catalogs and promotional use. Losey will remain on Ride BMX as editor-at-large. An avid BMXer since 1982, Losey’s first entered the industry as the associate editor at BMX Plus! in 1992. After 5 years there, Losey became editor at Ride BMX and BMX Business News. During his time at both magazines, he shot over 100 covers.

October, 2005 – Madison, Wis. – BMX Race Team Mongoose/Hyundai rider John Purse has broken THREE big records: Longest AA-Pro Career; Most Wins in a Single Season; and the biggie: Most Mains in a Lifetime. Purse’s pro career spans an incredible 16 years. Now qualified to race Vet-Pro (though he still races AA-Pro in the ABA and Elite Men in the NBL), his 25 wins in a single season tops the charts and now, as the first rider in BMX history to break the 300-Mains barrier, (now at a whopping 308), John Purse has earned his pages in the history books. “These records came to light at the ABA Grands last year,â€? said Purse. “I knew I had most wins in a single season (a record he set in 1998), but these others crept up on me. I’m close to the most winning rider in BMX history: I’ve got 71 total wins now, and the record held by former GT rider Gary Ellis is at 77, so that’s the next goal.â€?

The ABA season should be winding down with just 2 races left before the Grand Nationals, but the action is heating up in the AA Pro Class. Bubba Harris has lead the AA Pro title chase all season long and has an incredible season, with the maximum # of wins you can score in the AA Pro class already secured a few months ago. Kyle Bennett, last years NBL #1 Pro season, had a crash early on in the season caused him a major knee injury that needed surgery to repair. Since Kyle's comeback from that injury, a fire has been lit and at each race in the past 3 months, he has placed either 1st or 2nd each day. Kyle, who now sits in 2nd overall in the AA chase, can only move up with 1st place finishes. This weekend turned out huge for him and just moved up 80 points closer to the title.
