etnies and Woodward present: Jamie Bestwick's Art Contest
Alright kids, Jamie Bestwick wants to judge your art! Jamie is over the typical, "put your name in a hat and win something" contest. If you want to win a week at Camp Woodward East along with a bunch of etnies product you'll have to earn it!
So, if you have some extraordinary artistic talent or your mommy told you once that you were the best finger painter in your special class, then this contest is for you. So get your finger paints, crayons and scissors, take a photo or get on your computer and make something wonderful. The contest includes, but is not limited to: photography, painting, drawing, sketches and computer graphic art. This contest is only open to BMXers 16 years old and under. No skateboarders, rollerbladers or adults. Sorry.
HARO UK TOUR Day 2
From Leeds to Liverpool
Being on tour is good fun. Hanging out with friends is great. We exchanged stories in the hotel room till 4am and got up the next morning leaving for Liverpool, home of the Beatles and Ruff Ride BMX park. We had two sessions planned for day two. A private photo shoot during the afternoon and an open session with the locals at night.
Clic "Double Anti-Fog Lens Goggles" came in the mailbox at FATBMX a while ago for a review but nobody wanted to test them so we gave our test rider Philip an extra cookie and he did the job just fine....Philip is explaning you whether to buy these "Clic Goggles" or not As I was reading the nice transparent box with all the types of use of this manificant "Double Anti-Fog Lens Goggles" it was Me to try everything that was on the box:
- Snowboarding: it sucked, the "CliC Neodymium Magnet" was too weak
- Skiing: it sucked, the "Track Ventilator for Air-Flow" was full of snow
- Running: it sucked, I lost the goggles half-way at the Marathon of NY
- Walking: it sucked, who needs goggles to walk?
- Biking: it sucked, the "Form-Fitting Headband" made me look like
The FATBMX Comic and Art section is for the creative people out there. If you've got something to contribute, please send it in. Preferably BMX related but we also post other art such as these pieces from De Berekuil in Eindhoven, a popular graffity spot.

We had some FATBMX jerseys made by our party buddy Franky Theunis of Bioracer in Belgium. They turned out really nice. Franky has been telling us they are using only the best fabrics over at Bioracer in Belgium and after a visit to their facility we were convinced that they actually do deliver quality product. We added some co-sponsors to the jersey for that "Factory look", hey, at least it looks like you are hooked up!
GARDEN OF VERT
A Belgian halfpipe event14 April 2005, Overpelt - Belgium. After a successful opening of Peter Geys' backyard halfpipe in 2004 it is now time for a bigger event. In the weekend of 12-14 August the Garden of Vert will be taking place in Overpelt, Belgium. The halfpipe-only BMX freestyle contest will be spread over three days with a best trick and high air comp next to the regular vert contest.
Organizer Peter Geys: "Last year's Peter Passion showed that lots of people are interested in watching halfpipe riding. With the Garden of Vert we're bringing the elite riders to Belgium for a weekend of true backyard BMX fun on one of the largest ramps in Europe."

-Goods bike shop in Portland Oregon on May 2nd, location of demo to be announced on the web.
-Adrenalin Games Parksville, BC on May 8th. This is an amateur contest that’s been happening for the last three years now and is one of the biggest events in the BC BMX year. We’re sponsoring the contest and doing a pro demo.
How can you tell this is an old photo of Martin Apparijo?
-First of all he's riding a quarterpipe. Martin is more know for his bar rides, infinity rolls and front/backyards.
-Martin is riding an aluminium PK Ripper. Enough said.
-Look at the helmet of choice, an open face. Don't see those around much these days.
-Notice the brake system. Front brake, yes. rear brake, yes. Potts modification? no. Rotor? no. The big number plate doesn't help much either if you want to cross up the bars 180 degrees or give them a spin.
-Martin is riding one-piece cranks. Not your crankset of choice today....
