André and Smulders win very last Time Trials Superfinals and pick up 1000 bucks each in Florida
Things got exciting in what seems to be the last Time Trials event at a UCI BMX SX World Cup. Put money on the line and riders will fight harder to set the fastest time on the track. It wasn't just bragging rights, heat selection and lane-pick in Sarasota, $1000,= USD went to the winners in both the Men and Women category. And who doesn't want to win $1000 bucks for a fast lap on the track? With four Time Trials wins this season Tory Nyhaug came in as the favourite, but mental games were going on in the pits and the Canadian couldn't make it stick. Sylvain André from France grabbed the hot seat early on and was waiting to see if someone could beat his time. Nyhaug came closest with a difference of 0.036s. Luckily Dave van der Burg (NED) was fast too so his song could be stopped as soon as he crossed the finishline to get third. ;-).
In the Women class the lead changed multiple times. Brooke Crain (USA) was the last one in the seat when Holland's Laura Smulders snapped out of the gate on her own to set the fastest

Round four of the UCI BMX SX World Cup took place in Rock Hill, South Carolina last weekend. It was the first time that many racers on the international scene met up again after the Olympic Games. Not everyone was present but there was still a good turnout on the 2017 UCI World's track. Loads of new faces on the World Cup as some countries are already investing in a strong 2020 representation.
