the course move. That's more my style of riding but at the same time, the course had something to ride for everybody. It was just a treat from start to finish. We showed up and had one day to chill and hang out, and to experience Amsterdam. Red Bull never lets you down. There have been a few comments on how the course could have been a little bit better, but the positives blew out the negatives. We got to go on a boat ride, had dinner, we had shenanagans.... Just look at the riders here, it's incredible. No other contest puts on an event like Red Bull does. And at the end of the day, walking away with it, well, not even walking away with it, I rode my bike the way I wanted to and it didn't matter if I finished up last. If I pull the run that I wanted to, that feels better than winning the contest. And another thing that I want to add is, everyone walked away healthy. You don't have a better contest when everybody gets together can can ride BMX the next day.
FATBMX: Did the sudden cold affect you at all or are you used to the cold being from Canada?
Drew: I guess I should say I'm kinda used to it being from
Canada but honestly we went to Brasil this year for the X Games and it was super hot so then I went back to California and started to get used to riding in warm weather, and then the next two contests I went to it was freezing! I made a good call an hour before the contest to pedal back to the hotel to grab a sweater. It came in a favour. I was going to take it off when I rode, but kept it on because it was chilly. Everyone was wearing blankets and stuff.
FATBMX: Does a big crowd push you in your riding?Drew: When there's a crowd that is enthousiastic and into the riding, it makes a world of a difference. If you go to a contest and the crowd is like whatever and not really into it, you don't really want to put on a show for them to be honest, and that's what it is all about, putting on a show for the fans and at the end of the day if they're just as excited as you are, it's like a job well done. It's only good for BMX, it's only good for Red Bull and it will make more events like this possible. At the end of the day it was a success. I feel content now, well until I fly home and realize I have another
contest next weekend.FATBMX: Is that Dew Tour?
Drew: Well I've got a week but on Monday next week we fly out to the Dew Tour in Ocean City, and then we fly straight to Munich, Germany for the-X Games.
