The BMX Triple Challenge is not only back, but back to its normal self…an open invite event that welcomes anyone who is capable of clearing two massive jumps at the second Anaheim stop of the Monster Energy Supercross.
Best Trick contests are always a good show. It’s a chance for the rider to showcase heavy tricks they’ve been working on or just outright start hucking. The Best Trick contest at BMX triple Challenge was no different. Insane combos and NBD’s were flying everywhere.
From 35 riders, to 16, to the final 8...here are highlights from the always wild BMX Triple Challenge in Anaheim.
The semi-finals were insane! Who would’ve thought double backflips would be the norm? Anyway, hurry up and press play cause you’re not going to want to miss these highlights.
35 riders vs two massive jumps. Some more equipped to handle themselves than others...enjoy!
The greatest show in BMX dirt riding is officially back! Monster Energy congratulates team rider Andy Buckworth on winning the Best Trick event at the 2022 Monster Energy BMX Triple Challenge in Anaheim, California, on Saturday. In the series opener at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, the 31-year-old from Lake Haven, Australia, also took second place in the BMX Dirt competition. Buckworth was joined on the podium by a new addition to the Monster Energy roster: At age 27, Daniel Sandoval from Corona, California is known as the U.S. National Champion and he unleashed a barrage of 360 combos, with the culminating run consisting of a 360 barspin-to-downside whip-to-late barspin followed a 360 double whip-to-whip back for third place.
This was without a doubt the longest day of competition for me that I can remember! The level of riding was so insane! In this video I’ll take you through all of my runs even the crashes as well as getting a first look of what my face looked like when it was announced that I won! Such an AMAZING day!
The Triple Challenge is back to its normal self…an open invite event that welcomes anyone who is capable of clearing two maaasive jumps. As always, the open invite element makes the first day a bit…interesting. This year, some unusual winds compounded things so riding was a bit mellow with the qualifying event being postponed til the following morning. Here’s what went down…Qualifying highlights are in the works!
The need for BMX comps is there but in these times it's still challenging to do it under safe conditions. The BMX Triple Challenge series had its most recent stop at the Supercross race in Arlington, Texas. As in the past years a change to a Street type contest was held. A strong field of riders made it out to Arlington for the event and here's how the top 3 ended up and who won Best Trick.

Everything is bigger in Texas and contests still exist. Under CDC guidelines, the BMX Triple Challenge is back as part of the Supercross tour. Practice was originally scheduled for the day, but winds shut that down...so here's some clips from short the night session that went down.
