Due to the cold temperatures inside the hall, many parents gathered in the cafeteria, where wood-fired pizza and heating created a comfortable meeting spot. The amateur category featured a traditional podium with prizes sponsored by Soulcycle BMX Shop. In the pro category, creative awards were handed out, including Rider of the Day, Best Trick, Best Talent, Most Creative, Best Female Rider and Worst Slam. A special highlight was the participation of a group of riders from the Skateland Academy, competing together for the first time.
The Skateland BMX Open was made possible by Gemeente Rotterdam, Rotterdam Topsport and Soulcycle BMX Shop and is a recurring event that Skateland aims to continue organizing on an annual basis.
