In the end Jikke’s trick list was bigger than Indy’s. They included 360s on the step-up, backflips over the box, supermans, X-up transfers, tire grabs and a cancan over the spine, no-handed tire grabs, T-bogs, tables and X-ups.
Riders leveled it up in the Men Park finals. Michael Beaufort rode very consistent runs in both final runs, something he failed to do during qualification. The level of his tricks are up there and 4th place in this strong field was his. Arjan Ellens’ variety of tricks combined with park use and originality got him on the podium at the 2025 National Championships. The way he s
tarted his final runs with a bomb drop from the DJ platform was sick. Starting like this already gives you a headstart over just dropping into a ramp.
Pim Scheers stepped it up in his second final run (best run counts) and rode as if the park existed in its form for many months already and he had the key to the park to himself. Tailwhips, dec8’s, no-handers, T-bogs, footjams, fronties, backies, and plenty of 360 variations all over the place is what he brought to the table. His tire slide on the judging platform sure gave the judges a close look at his riding. In the end he came .68 points short of victory. The title went to Tom van den Bogaard, whose riding is from a different planet really. The height, the flow, the style, the execution, the difficulty of tricks, all packed in a 60 second run. A pleasure to watch as always and just enough to finish on top this time. The crowd approved and a big cheer was heard for all competitors of the day. A good day of BMX in Amsterdam.
