The first round of the vert comp took place at the Velodrom in Berlin today. The
Pete King vert ramp that was brought over is 12 meters wide which works for some (
Jay Eggleston) while others have to watch their carving on a ramp like this. There was actually a decent sized crowd today at the Extreme Playgrounds comp and with the bands that are added tomorrow (The Offspring as headliner), the place is most likely going to be packed. Some of the riders are not going to be back on the vert ramp tomorrow though.
Ronnie Remo is one of them. He rode with a sore ankle on
Paul Meacher's bike. The effort was there but the tricks failed. Paul Meacher sure had the height and was riding well until he c

rashed and had to give up the second run giving
Zach Shaw an easy transfer to the next round.
George Jovel impressed with giant tricks and good height. He's got the big tricks too, goes opposite and has flow but
Coco has all that too plus a few more.
Tim Eichert had one plan and that was to pull a 540 barspin. He did.
Shaun Eglington hasn't rode this good in a long time but riding against
Simon Tabron is not an easy task.
Jan Valenta had it rough riding against a perfectly riding
Zack Warden. He pulled the bikeflip, double whips and everything else he tried sending Jan to the showers.
Benny Kopp voted himself back in through SMS voting and will be on the ramp for round two. You can watch
Kagy, Tabron, Warden, Shaw, Coco, Coleman, Kopp and
Eggelston live on Freecaster.tv as they will battle it out for the 2008 T-Mobile Extreme Playground vert title.
