One week ago, some of the EASTPAK riders, which included Ben Hennon, Mike Miller, Stefan Lantschner, me, Arthur Dietrich and Andy Zeiss ™ went on a little trip to check out a few concrete bowls and some streetspots in Belgium and Germany.
On day one, all the guys flew into Düsseldorf and Cologne, I went to
Andy earlier that day so the rest of it, included picking up the dudes at the airport. Just because
Hennon's bags didn't arrive, due to a short layover, we had to wait a few more hours to get on the road to Antwerp, Belgium. Not too bad, the first spot, a brand new concrete bowl with a cradle,a 80´s swimming pool, loads of hips and spines, was only two minutes by bike from the hotel. Pretty happy about the real first day started in this beast of pool/bowl. A lot of good stuff went down at that place, even when it was kinda too big if it´s your first time there. Most of the guys rode this hip with this giant cradle as a landing, but also just sessioning a „traditional“ two stage bowl was fun!

Next stop was the close EASTPAK office in Bornem, cool to see the people behind and say hello, thanks to
Nadia for all the cool stuff we got that day. The last spot this day was this well known concrete bowl in Kortrijk, Belgium. Even when we hadn't that much sunlight anymore it was a chilled session for the end of the day. Later that evening we went out to get some food with the locals, who also have a bikeshop called „ride on“ where we chilled after.

Thanks for that. Same night we went off to Gent, so we were pretty close to Brussels where we were headed the next day.
First spot was some crazy concrete park on top of a trainstation, I guess
Hannu, who met us this day, loved the tight little bowl like doing transfers, he just rode it smooth. The park also had some good banks and curbs, a crazy subbox at the end of a huge bank and a weird bank-quarterpipe construction. Same here, alot of good stuff happened. Hannu lives close to Brussels so he showed us some really good streetspots.

One of the best would probably be a giant flowerbox made of bricks, looking like a huge volcano. The moment we arrived we got kicked off by some caretaker, same shit two minutes later 200 metres towards the street at some other awesome curved wallride quarter spot also made of bricks. Hannu told us about a backyard miniramp setup with wallride and hips so we decided to go there, before that we rode down, some big hill, downtown Brussels during rush hour, thats an experience!
Because of rush hour it took us two hours to get to Hannu's friend, so it was already getting dark and not ridable anymore. The weather forecast told us that the next few days it´s going to r

ain in Belgium so we decided to going back to Cologne where we started. It was a good decision. Being motivated by the awesome weather in Cologne, first spot was the famous saladbowl in Ehrenfeld. Only a little metal bowl inside the ground, but still alot of fun. After a little „wake up session“ we went to a handicap rail on our way to the Peoples-Store.

It was perfect long, not too steep bank and a bit over bar high rail.
Mike and me did trains over it,
Ben even a toboggan. After saying hello and chill for a bit with
Janosch at the Store, the following spot was a step up at some stairs in central Cologne. It was kinda scary to ride just because the bank we went off was only 10-15 cm wide, but still a lot fun. Look out for some photos or clips off that one. Even when it was killer day, like riding tons of different spots from 11 am to 11 pm everyone and everything was chilled. Pretty good.

The last spot we went to in Cologne was the over 20 year old Northbrigade, with huge concrete bank/quarterpipes all over the place, and some wooden obstacles in t

he middle. Everyone was psyched to ride the hips and just boosted. Somehow
Miller hurts his ankle, dunno how. After going to some awesome italian restaurant in Cologne we went to the final session to the new indoor spot in Wuppertal. They had to move from the old „Wicked Woods“ place into smaller one, but it´s still awesome.(check out www.20zwo.de for pics). There's wood all over the floor so you're going pretty fast. I don't know how, but
Stefan crashed onto his wirst again, so he was off for the rest of the day...damn. I guess everyone loved this new place, even when it was a lil bit narrow between the ramps everyone was on fire. This spot was perfect for the last chilled session, there was no pressure to produce clips or photos but that doesn't mean nothing crazy went down. Thanks to
Mike and
Mirko for this Nightsession. I, and I guess everyone else, just wants to say thanks to
Andy for make happen another amazing, chilled trip. Watch out for a video soon.
