Live TV always brings a bit of extra stress because of the time schedule but the FISE crew has done plenty of them and no problems occured in Reims and the finals were done as planned. Even with the French soccer team playing in the Euro championships that day, the stands filled up quite nicely for the main show.

Thibaut Panaville made use of Mr. Torres' absence in the finals. The man from Argentina was unable to ride finals after qualifying in the top three. Too bad and better luck next time. Norway's Ola Selsjord stepped it up during finals and finished 6th after qualifying in 7th. Anthony Jeanjean from France was the highest finishing 'local' and got the crowd behind him to get 5th place. After qualifying in a tied 3rd place with Tom van den Bogaard (NED), Kenneth Tancré (BEL) finished 4th. Again it was close between the two but Tom's style, height and triple downside whips over the box got him that podium spot over Kenneth's amazing tricks. It had been a long time coming for Cam Peake to make a FISE podium. Last year's overall winner delivered two super solid runs with hundreds of tricks it felt like. The Brit kept going and adding to his amazing run and didn't seem to get tired. He continued until the bag of tricks was empty but he had a lot of moves in that bag. Amazingly clean runs for second place. First went to Joel Bondu from Canada who entered his last comp on his Euro tour. Joel even threw in some street moves in his runs which he probably picked up from riding with all the different Euro riders over the last 8 weeks. Joel just adds an extra barspin, no-hander or whip on each wall which gave him enough points to grab the win in Reims. His Euro trip ended on a high that way and we're sure he'll be back sooner rather than later. Get that stamp in the passport, say hi to the family back home and don't be surprised to see him in Europe again next month.
