tricks with both runs counting towards a final score. Unfortunately Sam Jones (UK) couldn't stick his first trick in his first run and skipped the rest of it. Also Daniel Sandoval didn't manage to do what he came here to do when a truck driver on the T-section went wrong which ended his presence at the FISE World Montpellier. Kenneth Tencio from Costa Rica was on fire and grabbed the lead early on in the comp. His tailwhip drop in from the wall and 360 superman seatgrab on the box got the crowd going. Brian Fox (USA) had some crowd pleasers also with double flips and 1080-s in both his runs. He then had a surprise for everyone by backflipping into the water without his bike. Highlights also included Marin Rantes' 360 triple whip on the box jump, Daniel Wedemeijer's wall tap on the VIP fence, Tom Van Den Bogaard's 360-triple Downside Whip, Jack Clark's truckdriver over the hitching post and James Jones' truckdriver to downside whip that he pulled just for the crowd when his time was up. Jake Leiva (USA) showed a helicopter (backflip double tailwhip), Colton Walker transfered to different ramps while doing tailwhips, decades and barspins. The youngster is so in control and not afraid to add a barspin to any of his tricks. Kevin Peraza once again showed his love for riding a bike and his superman seatgrab, double tailwhip on the slanted wall and 180 over the hitching post were well received. Let's not forget about last year's FISE World Series champion Logan Martin who pushes the level of BMX every time he hits the ramps.
Canada's Mike Varga qualified in third place by doing unique tricks like the 810 spin over the hip and a 360 double tailwhip to barspin on the box jump in the centre of the course. Staying on the bike was key to place on the top and if someone knows about this, it's Daniel Dhers. He's got his tricks down to perfection and span corked 720-s, did a 360 doube tailwhip over the hip and flairwhips like only double D can. He'll be in the last group in the finals tomorrow together with Alex Coleborn who nailed it and qualified in first. The Brit added a barspin to his 720, did a 360 triple whip and also added tech tricks to his riding and added a footjam on the hitching post on top of it.
The semi finals were an awesome show. The final is on the program for Sunday and traditionally ends the entire FISE World Montpellier event with a bang. Don't miss out.
