After missing the first trip last year I couldn't wait to have it come around again so I could re visit the shenanigans and tomfoolery of yesteryear with some of my best friends. Though the curse of the HDP road trip struck me again for the umpteenth time, for those of you that don't know, I have a habit of breaking myself on day 1 of any Harddad trip and this one was no exception! Cue a separated AC joint in my shoulder, but happily not until after I had a chance to tear up Tiverton Skatepark for a couple of hours with my favourite rowdy bunch of misfits.

A quick trip to the hospital later (cheers boys for being as patient as you always have been with me, oh and 'Dr Sulley' for the 'medication') and it was off to Head Weir trails where There was ripping on some mud jumps, homoerotic river swimming scenes, bbq's, beers, Oh...and then there was NJs 30 foot cliff dive into 6 feet of water (not bad for a cripple).
Later that night is where my journey ended for me but the rest of the lads tore up more of Devon.
Thanks to all the boys for making the journey down here, it was awesome to see you after so long. Bring on next year...I'll book an ambulance now shall I to save time!!! Never Surrender.

Not really a reunion trip of any description for myself haveing not met too many of the lads before. But Can honestly say being a HDP transplant, drinking ridiculous amounts alcohol and a metric tonne of BBQ with like minded is allways gonna be a good time! Made a lot of new friends on that trip. Rode with a lot of people I used to look up to as a kid.Was stoked on all of it.

Also kinda made me feel like a bit of a girl feeling BMX injuries creeping up on me as many of the crew were late 30s/40s and smashing it and I didn't hear them moan once! No egos , no web edit, just blokes haveing a bloody good laugh is what it was and that's why it was awesome!

Hdp river reunion 2014, Was a treat from start to finish for me, the drive down there on the party bus, wolf dancing in the van on the motorway on the way down there. 1st morning consisted of a swim in a river not far from norms, then a wetherspoons brekkie before the 1st spot of the day which was Tiverton concrete which was a treat! everyone was having a good time and the weather was on our side. Unfortunately jay openshaw spannered himself and that called the end of the session/trip for him.
That evening we went to some local trails. Where riding was involved and another river swim right by the jumps and a good old camp out in one of my favourite spots on the trip. More booze and laughs and stories till the early hours of the am.

Next morning few people hit the trails and more swimming was had then we packed are shit up and headed to decoy. Hit up a Bike shop (can't remember the name) and a local chippy where gravy was new! Some of us northerners thought that was funny! Then headed to decoy bowl which is right next to the forte bros trails. This bowl was by far my favourite spot on the trip. The bowl was so good and fast. But we got rained off in sunny Devon, so we headed to a outdoor park straight out of the early 00's and had a session there.
Will Jacko was in his element.

That evening we headed to Dartmoor where
Dan from Tivi trails took us to a good camp spot. And another river spot. This was the final evening very boozy from what I can remember and endless laughter till the early am, naked streaking through the woods from some unknowns probably on trippy mind altering drugs who later came back fully clothed and apologised hahah.
I'd have to say without a doubt this trip was a breath of fresh for me as Bmx feels stale nowadays what with everyone being the same riding style and shitty attitudes.

No one on this trip had a bad attitude and everyone seemed to be having a laugh all the way through. Thanks to all the locals we met on the way. And it was good to see old friends and make a few new ones, road trips are the best thing about Bmx.
