and pro flatland rider himself, was responsible for the event, presenting his idea of a BMX festival to the City of Greenville

Flatland
Pro Flatland welcomed several competitors from across the country. Dane Beardsley, from Athens, Georgia and sponsored by DK Bikes, took the top spot with his lengthy rolling combinations and a rolling backwards backyard, for which he was awarded the Flat Out Sick Trick of the Day Award. The level of difficulty for his brakeless front wheel stunts snagged Freegun Underwear rider Alex Jumelin, from France and currently residing in Louisiana, second place. The third spot was won by Isaiah Jordan, from Greensboro, NC, who also took home the Championship trophy for the Trans Jam 2012 points series. Park
The battle for top Park Pro was between eleven riders from across the nation, and the tricks did not disappoint a packed contest area. The riders put on a show, and several tricks are worth mentioning. Flying in from California, Freegun Underwear rider A.J. Anaya came on strong with several big tricks including a boosted tuck to tail whip. Anaya took the fifth spot. Mike Fede, from Delaware and sponsored by Hyper Bikes, impressed the judges with his 180 double tail whip over the spox, clenching the fourth spot and earning a pay-out. Charlotte, NC rider Jared Ward, sponsored by Airtype Studio, earned a podium spot at third with several big bangers, including a massive triple whip air and a 360 triple whip. Pennsylvania rider, Keith Schmidt, also sponsored by Hyper Bikes, took first runner up with a 720 barspin, 360 triple whip, and, his signature trick, the tuna roll. Local Greenville, NC resident, Josh Perry, riding for Novik Gloves, Bern Helmets and Armourdillo, walked away with the top spot for several huge runs, including his boosted shark jaw transfer double tail whip and 360 truck driver to late tail whip. Perry also clenched the year-end title of Trans Jam 2012 Park Champion. The winner of the Stuntman of the Day award (best trick) was Alex Johann, for inventing the decade to superman seat grab.

Street
For the first time in the contest series, Trans Jam introduced a BMX Street Contest presented by Bell Helmets. Many riders crossed disciplines, competing in both Park and Street. Third place winner from Colorado, Duncan Core, grinded both staircase ledges and pulled a rail ride, while local Greenville resident Nick DiGeroloma took second place attempting a flare off of a roller coaster ramp (two rainbow ramps pieced together), and first place winner Dan Foley, also from Greenville, executed a manual up the grind ledge to backwards manual down the grind ledge to 180 out. Josh Perry entered the Bell Helmets Street Best Trick Contest and won with a tooth hanger to 180 across a flat rail to flat.

"We'd like to thank the City of Greenville and Uptown Greenville for investing their resources into a festival commemorating what BMX means to the area for the second year in a row. We'd also like to thank 99.5 the X Radio for getting the word out, Freegun Underwear and Bell Helmets for presenting, Buffalo Wild Wings and The Other Place Nightclub for throwing the pre-party and after party, Phelps Chevrolet and Hyper Bikes for supporting the event, and not to mention the numerous sponsors and vendors that helped make the second annual BMX Fest a success." said Keith King. "We'd especially like to thank all of the riders who traveled all the way to Greenville from places like Georgia, Michigan, Florida, New Jersey, California, and more! Your support as this contest series continues to grow makes us want to work harder to expand our stops next year and culminate the series in Greenville with this festival again!"
