a good size vintage bike display and guests were invited to participate in a raffle sponsored by Porkchop BMX to benefit the Mike Vincent Fight for Sight Fund, with Mike present, and Porkchop was able to raise nearly $350 for the cause.
The day, however, belonged to Jared Ward, the Charlotte home-town boy and winner of the Park Pro competition. Although competing with some very worthy rivals, Ward managed to clench the top spot with a triple whip off of a quarter, a front flip, and a 3-triple whip over the box. Alex Johann captured to second spot with a 720, 3-whip on the spine, and a flair transfer from quarter to quarter. Russell Summerville, from Georgia, snagged third with a no-handed 360 and a straight run of multiple flairs from the sub box to the spine.
The first stop of the Trans Jam BMX Contest Series was dubbed a success, and riders are expectant for what the second stop in Greenville, NC on November 12 will have to offer.
