1600 riders signed up to race the European BMX championships in Erp last weekend. Add one or two persons per rider for support and you've got a few thousand people in one place who are ready for some good BMX racing. The European Championships basically have 4 classes that can claim a title; the Elite Men and Women and the Junior Men and Women classes. All other age classes battle for a challenge victory but it's that group of riders that makes sure the stands are full when the top athletes get to work. In Erp the real action took place on

Today we cruised over to Erp for the first Junior/Elite practice session for the European BMX Championships. Normally we go to the track on Tuesdays for practice. Today it looked different. Way different. I heard something about 1600 riders from 21 nations being present at "the local track" which was transformed into a BMX arena in less than a week.
