Caroline Buchanan has won her 15th Australian BMX National Championship title over the weekend at the Sleeman Sports Centre in Brisbane. Buchanan holds onto the Australian National Championship flag sleeve for another year.
Despite the south east Queensland flooding and storms that swept through the event over 3,000 racers, the BMX families and volunteers pulled together with a smile and the show went on.
In a competitive Elite Women’s final, it was Buchanan who grabbed the hole shot and got to an early lead. Western Australia’s Lauren Reynolds who wrapped up the Australian National Series win for 2015 attempted a powerful passing move in the first corner but

Rio Olympic hopefuls Max Cairns and Lauren Reynolds have taken out the elite Oceania titles as torrential rain forced officials to cut short competition at the Subaru BMX National Championships at the Sleeman Sports Complex in Brisbane tonight. Racing under lights and tumbling rain on a soaked track, former prolific junior Cairns and 2012 Olympian Reynolds were declared the continental title winners, following the decision to abandon racing after the second of three motos and before any finals action.
Cairns clocked the quickest men’s elite time in the second moto to snare the biggest win of his senior career, edging out fellow Rio aspirants Bodi Turner and Josh Callan. Reynolds grabbed the women’s victory ahead of world number one Caroline Buchanan and rising star Rachel Jones.
Earlier in the night, with an eye on the future, world men’s elite champion Sam Willoughby, out of contention for the national series crown, withdrew from competition without starting a race,

Marian University claimed the division I team omnium for the third year in a row at the 2015 USA Cycling Collegiate BMX National Championships on Sunday after its riders Justin Posey and Felicia Stancil repeated their wins from a year ago for this year's men's and women's individual titles. Mars Hill University was the team omnium champion in division II thanks to strong efforts from Alan Hudson who was sixth in the men's competition, and Josie Ritchey who was ninth in the women's contest.
Held in conjunction with the Dixieland Nationals at the Cobb County BMX track in Powder Springs, Ga., the collegiate event debuted its new two-day format this year. Coeds raced on both Saturday and Sunday with the national champions determined from
