Brookings will soon be home to a brand new Pump Park, built by PumpTrax USA of Columbus, Ohio. The three dirt tracks for bicycles are part of the Dakota Nature Park in the south part of town. It's not a dirt cheap form of recreation but this $20,000 dirt track facility will be a welcomed addition to the Brookings bike trail. Brookings Parks and Recreation Director Pete Colson says it's taking 100 truck loads of dirt to get the job done.

Last weekend saw the Haro UK Race Team hit rounds 5 & 6 of the British BMX Series at the new track in Cumbernauld, Scotland. This is the first national race to be held in Scotland for 23 years! The track was big and wide so it made for some really fast racing with minimal crashes! Saturday saw Imogen, Eddie, Josh, Cal and Abbie make the main final. Mark and Lewis just missed out in the semi final but both went on to win the B-final. Imogen was first up and saved her best lap for the final finishing in 3rd place. BOX Components is launching a titanium replacement bolt program called BOX Bolts starting with 6Al-4V titanium, cantilever brake bosses. Available in raw titanium or with a gold anodized finish, the bosses fit most BMX frame brake boss mounts and weigh just 11 grams/0.38 ounces per pair. Swapping the original steel bosses for the titanium is a simple process and will take a skilled mechanic less than 10 minutes to complete.
The titanium brake bosses are the first product to be sold under the name BOX Bolts. BOX plans to offer other replacement titanium bolts and bolt kits for its BMX and mountain bike components in the future. BOX Bolts will be available through all regular BOX Components retailers.
