London Olympian Caroline Buchanan has narrowly missed out on claiming the 2016 UCI BMX Oceania title in Auckland, New Zealand today, local rider Sarah Walker winning on a count back following the third and final race of the day. In a podium-laden day for the Aussies, highly rated women’s junior elite competitor Saya Sakakibara was the only one to break through for victory, confirming her status as a star of the future.
