Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) regrets to announce that the first two rounds of the 2021 UCI BMX World Cup, which should have opened the series in Stuttgart (Germany) on 8 and 9 May, have been cancelled at the request of the organisers. This is as a result of restrictions imposed by the competent authorities. Given that the first two rounds of the UCI BMX World Cup were to count towards Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualification, the UCI is working to find an alternative venue for these early-season events before the end of the qualification period at the end of May.

The other rounds of the series will take place in Bogota (Colombia) on 29 and 30 May, and in Sakarya (Turkey) on 23, 24, 30 and 31 October.

The UCI thanks the organisers for their cooperation in this difficult situation, as well as the riders, National Federations, teams and all concerned parties for their understanding.

Some of you with your ear close to the ground will have been waiting on this one. After moving to Barcelona from Argentina two years ago Martin Thomas and his clothing brand just released a gem, with the help of filmer Santiago Arano. This is some high grade visual entertainment for sure.

The sport of BMX is often seen as a gateway into cycling, with many of today's road and mountain bike legends beginning their path on small wheels. We sent GCN's James Lowsley-Williams and GMBN's Blake Samson to ride with some athletes who chose to stay on that path, with an aim to find out just what it takes to turn dirt, into gold.

The Blue Groove Bmx Store opened in Brisbane in December 2020 and had the suburb the put to celebrate. Great to see a bunch of young shredders and the bag was always a highlight.
