Cycling Australia and BMX Australia are pleased to announce the eleven cyclists selected as members of the inaugural BMX High Performance Program (BMX HPP). "The partnership between Cycling Australia and BMX Australia means elite level BMX has now come under the current high performance programs section within Cycling Australia," said Graham Fredericks, CEO of Cycling Australia. "This means it will benefit from the management, direction and administration support already established for our highly successful road, track, mountain bike and disability programs."

Friday 21 October will be the day of the Expo in Hengelo, The Netherlands. The jam contest will take place between 8pm and 2am. Bands and a bar are present. The place is already open if you feel like riding indoors. Times are: 16:00hr - 20:00hr every day during the week. Saturday and Sunday from noon till 6pm. There is no cover charge and the expo takes place until 26 October 2005.

Rampage park in Iowa was going to close down but not before the FBR posse made it over for a session. Riders who showed up for the front brake tech session at Moliterno’s park included Osato, Anthony Pill, Ryan Nyquist, Chad de Groot, Freimuth, James Hitchcox, Eben Fischer and more high level tech riders. Legend is basically a video that covers the happening at Rampage plus a few extra’s like an insane Rob Ridge part, a pre Rampage road trip of the UK squad to Area 51, 4 Seasons and Terry’s Barn. If you like chaos, you’ll like the Hummer riding over two cars and all the fire that went on in that session. The riding covers roughly 30 minutes. A good part of that comes from Anthony Pearson who rips and seems to learn tricks on the fly. A bunch of riders get a riding part followed by a little interview where they talk about riding with a front brake, the event and Rampage. The video has a bronze feeling to it. It’s like having a black and white roll of film developed on colour paper. It didn’t disturb me.

BESTWICK crowned FIRST-ever dew action sports tour champions in BMX VERT Discipline. October 16, 2005 – Orlando, Fla. – Jamie Bestwick, 34, of Nottingham, GBR took top honors today in BMX Vert at the PlayStation® Pro at Orlando’s TD Waterhouse Centre. With his win, Bestwick clinched the Dew Cup in the inaugural Dew Action Sports Tour and receives a $75,000 year-end bonus and 2006 Toyota Tacoma. Bestwick led Kevin Robinson of East Providence, R.I. by just five points entering Sunday’s event, but Bestwick clinched the title with a brilliant tour-best first run of 97.75. Fellow Briton Simon Tabron finished second at 93.25. Robinson was third at 92.25. Bestwick’s fourth consecutive Dew Tour event title gave him 400 points to win the BMX Vert season crown. Robinson finished second with 358 and Chad Kagy of Gilroy, Calif., was third with 303. Bestwick was the only four-time winner on the Tour.

October 15, 2005 - Orlando, Fla. - Ryan Guettler, 22, of Brisbane, AUS won his second Dew Cup of the inaugural Dew Action Sports Tour at the PlayStation® Pro in Orlando's TD Waterhouse Centre on Saturday night. With his third place finish in BMX Park, he secured the overall points lead and earned a $75,000 year-end bonus and a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. "This is a dream come true," said Guettler, "and I couldn't be happier. I came into this series hoping to win one, and to win two [Dew Cups] is really unbelievable." Guettler also took top honors in the Panasonic Open in Louisville, Ky. and Denver's Right Guard Open. Jackson, NJ native Scotty Cranmer, 18, finished with a score of 93.50, which earned him first place in the PlayStation® Pro's BMX Park competition. His winning run was highlighted by a front flip over the box to earn him his first win on the Dew Action Sports Tour.

From 21st – 23rd October, The Manchester Evening News Arena (MEN Arena) will host the LG Action Sports Championships (LGASC), the season-ending Championships that regularly attracts the very best action sports super stars from around the world. It’s the first time that this high-profile event has ever been held out side of the US. Boasting more than $650,000 in cash and prizes – the largest per-sport purse in action sports history – the LGASC will showcase 250 of the world’s top professional and amateur athletes from freestyle BMX, skateboarding, inline skating and freestyle motocross. In addition to a pool of the UK’s hottest talent, each of the event’s defending Champions, including Jamie Bestwick (UK) and Ryan Nyquist (US) are expected to compete along with an international ‘who’s who’ of action sports. Some of the other global stars expected at the LGASC include Simon Tabron (UK), Dave Mirra (US), Kevin Robinson (US) and Steve McCann (AUS).

With a second place finish, Guettler secured the overall points lead and earned a $75,000 year-end bonus and a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. Guettler, 22, also winner of the Right Guard Open in Denver and Vans® Invitational in Portland, Ore., had a score of 90.25, an average of his best two of three runs, to place second in tonight’s competition, and clinch the overall points lead and year-end title.

We said it before and we'll say it again, Matt Bischoff is one stoked dude. RedBull came in with a couple of work crews and a bunch of top riders and changed his backyard into a dream. Although a bit chilly, the RedBull Build-Off went very well. With respected BMX ramp building teams consisting of: Team 1: Aaron Bostrom, Burly Matt Gibeaut, and Ty Stuyvesant, Team 2: Ryan Corrigan, Ron Kimler and Chris Hallman and Team 3 consisting of Craig Billingsley, Mike Ryan, and Glen Johns getting to work with a bunch of plywood, saws and nail guns, Matt's backyard changed real quick in three days time.
