Neither rain, nor wind, nor mud could keep the top international BMX riders from putting on a show at the first-ever Red Bull Stomping Ground. A BMX dirt jumping competition hosted at an abandoned paper mill in Chicago’s Riverwest neighborhood, 50 athletes from all over the world attempted to take on this unique course designed by Fuzzy Hall. While thunderstorms loomed throughout the day and caused competition format changes, the biggest threat of all proved to be former American BMX racer Brandon Dosch, who dominated the course to win both the finals and best trick.
The 18 jump-course set in the heart of Chicago provided the ultimate playground for BMX’s top riders to showcase their talent for the enthusiastic fans, who stayed regardless of the falling rain and were rewarded with a wet and wild final jam session.
