BMX world champion Twan van Gendt now has his own replica of Tokyo's Olympic BMX track. In Ammerzoden, where he made his first meters on the BMX as a 4-year-old, Twan built an identical part of the Olympic track together with Red Bull. Twan van Gendt became world champion in Belgium last year, because he left all his competitors behind from the start. That was because he could often train on the track at the time. To have a chance to win a gold medal in Tokyo at the Olympic Games, Twan actually wanted this again: “I know I have to make the difference at the start and the first two jumps, that's my strength. And when Red Bull asked me how they could help me, I said: with my start. Together we came up with the idea of rebuilding this track, so that I can perfect that first part in the coming months. ”

Stockport UK's Tariq Haouche has been on the scene for quite some time now. After making an appearance in the 4Down x Fit “Fuk-it” UK shop stop trip and popping up at various jams up and down the country, Tariq fell victim to the cursed 'broken ACL' and had to take time out for surgery and recovery. Moving on a year it looks like no time was lost getting back into the swing of things with a newly crafted ACL and a welcome back edit!
Maybe it wasn't a random Saturday, do they even exist when life changes with updated Corona regulations every week? Anyway, on Saturday October 17th several BMX activities took place. We started the day at the Flame Trails. With no real plan but to do some laps and work on the dirt spot, around 15 riders showed up. Everyone knows that with a lot of people with a rake or shovel in their hands, work gets done quickly. The Flame Trails are now in the best shape they've been in months and word spreads fast as the next day even more riders showed up for a dirt session.
Saturday was also the day of the BMX Street session in Helmond set-up by City Legends. BMX-ers gathered at the Train station and hit up several spots including the Warande park and ended at the Helm Trails at the other side of town where a dirt session was happening already with several visitors from out of town.
The Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships took place this Sunday (October 18th), in Lisbon, with the presence of fifty athletes from four countries. The National BMX Champion, Bruno Cardoso, took the silver after the clash in the final with the Frenchman Dupont. Lisbon entered the international map of the Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships circuit with the right foot, after receiving on Sunday (October 18) a qualifying stage with 55 athletes from four countries: Portugal, Spain, France and Latvia. It was like this, by the hand of many big names from BMX and MTB, that the official track of Parque Tejo was inaugurated, in a competitive system with successive duels to the stopwatch that culminated in a great final (female and male) with the two fastest athletes.
The Annual High Air Jam weekend at Posh Woods and Catty Woods in the trails mecca of Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania went down, and it was extremely entertaining as usual. A shark went the highest on the shark fin jump at Catty, and doubled up on the Butcher jump at Posh the following day. Here's a glimpse into such an awesome weekend. Shout-out to Posh and Catty for all the perseverance, longevity, and influence it's had on the the trails community for over a decade and a half.
