The bcrossionale 2006 is done. The little BMX-Video contest has stepped out of children`s shoes. 24 teams/peoples send in their work for competition and the level has raised a big step ahead compared to last years level. We really loved to welcome the first 3 artist from outside Germany from Austria for taking part at the bcrossionale videocontest. The premiere and award ceremony was held in the Skate Hall in Aurich. About 150 people joined the Adventsjam this day and stayed the afternoon to enjoy the premiere of the 24 well made videos on a big screen and with good sound.

Nike has been trying to get the foot in the door in BMX lately and latest additions to the team are Nigel Sylvester and Mike Spinner.  Nigel has his own rider part on the Nike website with cool pics and three videos. If you want to check it out, go here. Mike Spinner pulled a 1080 at Dave Mirra's warehouse earlier this week. According to Dave: "He did it just perfect. He does a 720 and simply spins it one more time, it's sick. More people will be doing them when they've seen the footage."

We heard it somewhere, half-shirts are coming back. We don't mind as long as it's the ladies who wear them. A mini skirt (or whatever she's wearing) and a matching green BMX bike make this Pin Up worth looking at. Thanks to Blackman for the contribution.

Australia is happening at the moment. The sun is blasting and loads of riders from overseas have made it to town to enter the comps and to simply have a good time. The BMX Games took place over the weekend and now the BMX crew is heading to New Zealand for the annual X-Air event. Find the results of the BMX Games right here:

With great anticipation I put the Flipside DVD in my computer. The story of 4 street riders visiting "pro town" and 4 fully sponsored (contest) pros visiting NYC in return sounded like a good concept. I was waiting for Mirra, Harrington, Dillewaard and Laird to get lost in New York where the only bit of transition can be found at the bottom of the Brooklyn banks. In return seeing E-man, Nigel Sylvester, Blackman and Ralphy in a foampit and playing Golf would be something else too. But before the show started, Glenn Milligan pops up on the screen and announces a slight change of plan. 

Technical equipment does help sportsmen and women a lot nowadays. Visiting with Rob van den Wildenberg and his family did learn me that technical equipment used in bicycle track riding has found its way in BMX. On the pictures you can see a crank set that Rob is using during his training and practise sessions. Sensors and a chip do register the power put on the pedals by he rider. After each training session the information gathered can be shown on the computer and it reads the Watts that a rider has put on the pedals.

From Chris Woodage: This helmet was given to me by Ryan Nyquist at the Vans Triple Crown in Denver Colorado 2003. This was the year that Ryan won everything he entered and this was the helmet he wore! It probably has magic powers and might enable you to do truck 720's!! Who knows!! This helmet was signed by Ryan ("Rock on Ryan Nyquist '03") at the time as we were going to give it to Ride UK magazine to give away as a competition prize. The competition never materialised and so the helmet has been sat in my office ever since. I have now just referbed my office and thought it would be a good
