The PSP The Champ BMX Series came to an end last weekend. The series had a different set-up. Series one was a dirt contest in Augsburg. Series two a street/park contest (Hamburg - I-punkt) and the last stop was a mini-ramp competition (Weil am Rhein) last weekend. To be able to win the title you had to ride more than one contest. It would show who had the best overall skills on a BMX bike.
The third annual Long Beach flatland jam is happening again. Just when the winter time is setting in, flatland riders can make their way to Sunny California for some backwards bar rides on the waves. The exact date is 9 December 2006.
When it rains (does it ever in Sunny California?), the flatland jam will be held the next day. The folks at Intrikat are behind this one so you know it's legit.
When the waves don't show up, meet at the Wilson Public Courts. The address is: Wilson High School, 9th street & Bennett, Long Beach, CA 90804. Don't forget to raise your laidback seatpost, put your bars in Chicago mode and bring the Simple Green for the Skyway rims.
Joe kid on a Sting-Ray –The History of BMX. BMX is an acronym for Bicycle Motocross. This film documents the evolution of a sport created by kids who [in the 1970’s] began modifying their Schwinn Sting- Ray bicycles to look like motorcycles. This documentary is the first film to take a serious look at the history and evolution of BMX bicycle riding, from the streets of 1960s suburban neighborhoods to today's stadium-packed televised Dirt, Street & Halfpipe insanity.

We have taken many bold steps recently to bring BMX to the forefront of action sports. Teaming with Tim Lillethorup will provide more exposure for the sport and more fun for all BMX enthusiasts!”, says Clayton John, ABA President.

Andy Jenkins is having a 15% off on all the new paintings featured on his Bend Press site . And 15% off all the available Wrench Pilot originals. Oh, and the prints, notebooks and all that. Everything is 15% off until November 27th. Also, he'll be adding a few new pieces over the next week, so be sure to surf by on occasion and browse. Wrench Pilot was drawn by Mel Bend and published by Transworld Skateboarding magazine from 1989 through 1991. Gilbert, Arizona—November, 2006—The ABA (American Bicycle Association) will hold the 29th annual Grandnationals of BMX (Bicycle Motocross) November 23-26, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The annual finale to the 27 race national event series is always important for the racers and exciting for family and spectators. This is “the” event where the national titles are determined and racing careers are made. The Grandnationals is also highlighted by other highly anticipated special events and activities.
The ABA Grandnationals attracts 3000 racers and spectators from around the world to Tulsa each year. Tulsa has become home to this event because of the central location and the huge open-span building that allows for the massive indoor dirt track to be constructed. Racers and spectators wait each year for the annual Hall of Fame awards, that honor the people who have made notable contributions to BMX. The racing heroes, company founders and innovators are honored at a banquet the day before Thanksgiving. The Golden Crank Awards are also held during this BMX spectacular. This award is given to a Rookie Pro, Pro, Team and Bicycle brand chosen by the people.
