Playstation is doing some sort of Trick of the Week contest where BMX-ers are up against skateboarders and FMX-ers at the Dew Action Sports Tour. This time the following riders have been nominated to put the $5 grand in their back pocket: Dave Mirra (like he really needs it but it helps to pay for the wedding), Jamie Bestwick (same goes for him but he could use some pamper money) and Ryan Guettler (he's been winning so much this year, it isn't even funny). The Ruff Draft DVD is full of those "BIO riders" that appear on one page with a little interview in the BMX magazines. From Larry Alvarado to Jackson Ratima these are all very talented riders that actually deserve full back-up from a company but since they're too far away from "the scene" they seem to get unnoticed. Steve Croteau and Davy Watson belong to this list too. They're riding new spots that could easily end up on a full page in Dig or RIDE. The filming of Ruff Draft is super and adds a couple of new angles to the whole video. Mike Hoder and Justin Simpson each have good sections. The graphics in Ruff Draft are great and at least you get to know who's riding after every rider gets presented with some type of "introduction". The DVD is a strong street film with new locations be it pools, rails, stairs and banks. It has got some hidden sections and bonus features including game of BIKE between Dossantos and Gonzalez. Chad Shackelford did a good job with Ruff Draft.

On Thursday the top BMX riders from around the world gathered to participate in the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup at the Dew Action Sports Tour. The Toyota Challenge, held last week at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, was the fifth stop on the Dew Action Sports Tour, but the first to include BMX racing. The BMX Supercross was the only event included in the Toyota Challenge that gave spectators the excitement of head to head racing along with the extraordinary spectacle of speed and jumps that is the BMX Supercross format. Robert was excited when he saw the track on Thursday morning. The steep start ramp and big jumps on the track looked like they were tailored to his powerful and technical riding style. His only concern was the wind. As Robert’s turn to qualify approached the banner at the top of the start ramp was blowing almost completely horizontal in the wind, and he was a little worried that it would slow him down. His time trial run was .39 seconds slower than Mike Day, but strong enough for 2nd overall.

Fifth Edition “Braun Flatgroundâ€? attracts top International Flatlanders and Breakdancers to Amsterdam September 23 to 25 breakdancers and BMX flatlanders from all over the world will meet in Amsterdam for Braun Flatground. The international festival will be located in the nineteenth century industrial buildings of the Amsterdam Westergasfabriek cultural park, especially decorated by Dutch graffiti artist Zedz. Workshops and contests with riders and dancers from countries as diverse as Japan, the USA and Brazil competing in sensational one-on-one battles, will be backed-up with music from Netherlands’ best hiphop DJs. Opening and after-show parties offer performances of Pete Philly & Perquisite (NL), C-Mon & Kypski (NL) and living hiphop legend Talib Kweli (USA).

Bart de Jong crashed hard during his comeback on his MX Riding MX is as dangerous as you make it yourself, hit the throttle and you go fast, shut down the throttle and you slow down, simple you think. After popping out his shoulder a few times it was time for Bart to let it fix by the best doctors in the Netherlands and after 2 months of recovery it was time to start riding again. The doctor said: "do whatever you can do" and for Bart that means: Green light to ride! We went to our local track and started to do some laps but soon Bart was beating his older brother again and he didn't slow down cause his shoulder felt right....... You know what comes next: Crashing time! Someone was standing on the track in front of me and got me out of my trainingsession to ask if "that guy in the ditch" was Bart, and after seeing #132 the answer was: Yes!

As this was our first Jam, we did not expected too much from it. Just a few riders and hopefully some nice weather. Our day started very good, the weather was very sunny and we took off to our big city ROTTERDAM. We had a riders pick-up at CS and from that on we took off to the Schouwburgplein in the middle of the City. Due to a festival there was little space, but we waited a bit for a few riders and also we checked the breakdancingdemo and the demo from Bram Verhallen for Braun Flatground. From there we took off to the old “LEFTplein� also in the city. We arrived at the spot and we all saw that this floor was very, very, very BIG and so everyone had enough space to practice and ride! Everyone chilled and rode the whole day so we can speak of a successfull day! Around 17.00 Hrs we took off again to the Braun Flatground spot for another demo by Bram Verhallen and Sytse Winkel and that was more the end of our day.
