After years of conflict and attempts at creative negotiations, the City of Casselberry will soon begin removal of the controversial clay BMX bike racing mounds that have become known as Casselberry Trails, officials announced this week. Paul Sarkisian, the owner of the property at 71 S. Winter Park Road, lost the property to foreclosure this week. His son, Aaron Sarkisian, occupied the property and illegally built and operated the sports bike racing track for years. With this foreclosure, the city will forgive most of the accumulated liens against the property and with permission from the bank, will move forward removing approximately twenty-four 9’ clay mounds. The bank will then be free to sell the property to a new owner.

Josh Harrington and Chad Kerley both celebrate Premium Products 10 year anniversary in 2012 by re-signing with the team. In addition, Premium teammates Dan Foley, Connor Lodes, and Sean Ricany also re-sign to round out this talented group of riders.  Josh Harrington states; “I’m looking forward to another amazing year repping with the Premium crew! The Premium team has some of the most easygoing, positive, motivated and talented riders you could ask for. I'm stoked to travel and shred with the boys all over the world this year.”

“The Premium team is awesome right now, it's definitely an honor to be apart of a team with such a solid group of dudes. I'm really looking forward to going on future trips and having more good times with my homies,“ added Chad Kerley.

Team Manager Colin MacKay shared similar sentiments; “At the end of 2011 we hit the road as a team in the mid-west, the trip was for no pressure, no demos, and no schedule except a 

12 tons of wood, a team of 8 specialists, 2 weeks of assembly, a thorough design of the track by European pioneer Axel Jurgens in close collaboration with Spaniard Sergio Layos, one of the top BMX riders in the world, and several months of planning have transformed an ordinary metro station into a colossal half pipe. To that end, the constructors have used Finnish fir tree wood and naval plywood - the best for these events in terms of flexibility -, that will be recycled once the event is over.

In just 48 hours, anyone who may wish to attend this free event will have the chance to enjoy what it’s arguably going to be the most powerful BMX competition of 2012. It’ll also be the most peculiar, as it’s going to be the first one held in a metro track. The Chamartín station in Madrid will make BMX history with the Red Bull Metro Pipe. Another peculiarity of the competition that will make it a bit more difficult is the essential requirement of participating in pairs.
