Ruben Alcantara's story started on September 13, 1974 in a hospital in Carlos De Haya, which is in Malaga Spain. Throughout his first few years, it was clear Ruben was not just your average kid. When he turned six-years-old his birthday present was a blue bike and ever since then his feet have been spinning on pedals and holding a pair of handlebars. Thirty-eight years later, Ruben is a true legend in his game and world famous for his huge wall rides, airs and fluent style. 
ASA Entertainment announces the return of ASA Big-Air Triples to the OC Fair July 25 - 26. Fresh off the X Games, ASA brings their Big-Air Triples format back to So Cal—bigger and better than ever---with a two-day format that hosts separate live competitions both days featuring the world’s top BMX pros. This year, superstar BMX riders such as Ryan Nyquist, Brett Banasiewicz, TJ Ellis, Colton Satterfield, Austin Coleman, Zack Warden, Kyle Baldock, Ryan Guettler, James Foster, Brandon Dosch, Anthony Napolitan and Pat Casey will be competing in a series of unique head-to-head battles on the Triples ramp: a 195-foot long course with a 25-foot high roll-in, two 25-foot jumps and a 14-foot high quarter-pipe. The Triples format combines the best of dirt, park and box jump skills and challenges the athletes to show off their best three back-to-back tricks in a go-for-broke manner. The head-to-head format of the competition makes the contest easy to follow and brings fans to the edge of their seats.

FATBMX partnered up with the Belgian BMX Open, Belgium's biggest BMX comp that will take place this weekend in Hasselt, Belgium. Some shaping and testriding already took place and even the sun showed up. Dirt aces Sven Grieten & Greg van Tulder worked their asses off to get things perfect. It was real crowded in the park today, lots of guys practising lines. Even the amateur level will be high, those guys

Constant rain forced the organizers of the BMX WORLDS 2012 (July 13-15) to cancel the final day. After the program of the official BMX Freestyle world championships was continually interrupted by heavy rain showers the previous two days, organizer Stephan Prantl and his team announced the cancellation on Sunday afternoon. More than 400 pros and amateurs from around the world had gathered at the Kölner Jugendpark, to fight for the titles of World Champion in the disciplines of Flatland, Park, Street and Vert. No finals could be held in Park and Vert. The new world champions in the other disciplines were crowned on Saturday. In the coming year, the most important BMX Festival will once again take place at the Kölner Jugendpark fom July 12-14.

The Dew Tour today announced the competitions and the invited athletes for the Pantech Beach Championships in Ocean City, Md., August 16-19. The new Dew Tour - featuring three large-scale, premium events - will debut with a mix of returning and new Skateboard and BMX disciplines, Surf and multiple music performances. The Dew Tour Pantech Beach Championships will be free to attend. While developing the new Dew Tour, Alli Sports and Mountain Dew - reinforcing their long-standing commitment to the action sports community - have garnered feedback from athletes, agents and industry veterans.
