Derek and his brother have been making these Outlaw Collective Videos for around 15 years. I was given six of Dereks old sections to use, so Im going to be uploading one each Monday. This is the first one, it's from their video Another Nail in the Coffin. The footage is from the late 90s into 2000, its a 14 minute epic and im pretty sure it was edited on two VCRs judging by the brain shaking slow Mo clips, but its pretty fun to watch. It also has some footage of Dereks first and last contest he entered at the old East Coast Terminal skatepark that use to be FBM HQ. He entered beginner because he only rode with skaters at the time and had no idea where to place himself in a contest. He was called a sand bagger and bumped up to pro where to quote him:
"so in my run I was called a sandbagger on the PA system and booted into the Pro class where I was promptly crushed by all the really good riders..." "...But I did get a nickname out of it ,it was "easy street" in a mocking way, but I still like that nick name it is pretty sweet."
